Vehicle Detail
A rare Original German WWII BMW R 75 with driven sidecar. 750cc motor with a 4 spd transmission with hand and foot shift, high/low range and reverse. Manually engage sidecar drive through lever near rear differential. This is the preeminent military motorcycle of WWII and this example is manufactured early enough in the war to not have been made of substandard components due to Allied bombing. Original frame with correct serial number and "275" casting numbers on cast components. Complete front forks with all parts in working condition. 4 correct wheels with old tires on them. The engine is a non-matching number original WWII BMW engine complete with generator and magneto. Amal carbs are included (as these were the last ones on the bike when running). Original tank in excellent shape with air cleaner cover removed. Complete transmission with all gear and shafts, clutch assembly, drive shaft and coupling. Rear differential complete with all parts and functioning well. Sidecar frame is the original "Stieb" manufacture with all correct markings and reduction drive for sidecar wheel included in excellent shape. Driveshaft to sidecar missing. Sidecar is an original R12 style boat in complete but rough condition. All fenders are present in restorable shape. Original headlight with correct early speedometer. Throttle cables and grip present but missing handlebars, wiring and other small pieces. Correct luggage carrier (also for second seat) and a post war passenger seat is included. This bike was used after the war and imported into Canada. It was run as a solo (without sidecar) for a time. I have no service history on the bike during WWII. It is rare to find on e of these bikes in North America and most are already restored and commanding serious money. Here is the change for you to restore your own at your pace and budget. This bike needs a complete restoration. Every part is available to restore this bike from European suppliers and when complete represents a solid investment. Please review these websites for information. http://www.wehrmachtsgespann.de/ http://www.oldtimergarage.eu/catalog/index.php The bike will be sold with a bill of sale only. It can be crated for shipment at an extra cost. The bike is sold "AS IS, WHERE IS" and shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser. There is no warranty and what you see in the pictures is included, nothing more. Payment by wire transfer or cash to be received by me before bike moves. Foreign bidders are welcome but they take full responsibility from my door, all shipping, brokerage, customs fees and any taxes are your responsibility.
