1956 Chevrolet Belair Hardtop Wonderful '56 Belair Hardtop, same owner for over 21 years, the dry air of Southern Idaho preserves the classic cars up here. They bought this car with the dreams of restoring it , driving it to the car shows, having fun and being part of nostalgic history ...that is exactly what they did ! I have pictures and receipts that date back over 20 years ago , no expense was spared from the time they bought it and the restoration they did !, Looking at all the receipts showed they always upgraded it and maintained it as they used it which included a GM Target Engine, Updated automatic transmission, power brakes with disc upgrade, Updated Suspension, Vintage radiator, Vintage Radio, Interior, Headliner basically everything you could buy or upgrade from when the car was acquired from a shell(see the original pictures). My understanding is they did a complete restoration and it shows , finished the car, drove the car to the meets and the Car Shows up until the Husband passed away and then I guess they stored the car and it just sat ( I did not ask exactly what happened or why it sat so long but even though I knew better that to buy another car - I could not pass it up and paid her in cash on the spot as she she wept when I drove off- Very very nice and honest lady) The original pictures and receipts are included along with the records I have however the car does not come with the wheels & tires I added but does come with the wheels and tires (which are good )that the car came with plus the original wheels that came on the car originally to make it stock if you choose (Both sets included). The car has been used and sitting for a while so you will have to do some things such as new chrome for the steering wheel, drivers seat has wear as shown, paint has some spot on the white and wear that needs to be done, I added a new battery and got it running and driving but it will still need some tuning and fluids changed,It dies on me last Fall for no reason after driving , I called AAA to have it set up to tow but after it cooled off it started right back up , my mechanic said it was probably the coil but has not done it since then (I think I did the oil and coolant last Fall) its a great car but I don't want anyone to think its perfect or ready for the show but its darn nice, selling as is and where is , I hate to sell a Hardtop Belair but I decided to sell the rest of my collection so I can pay my taxes and move my stuff out of state, I assume if the economy ever comes back then these will get back up to $35k or $40k but I have been saying that for 6 years now. No matter, ask anything , inspection are invited prior to the auctions end, I ask that if you win then you pay within 3 days and if you cant then lets not bid, I really want to list it one time and get it sold ,I know it will be under market but its time for it to go to the type owner it came from .
