1988 Mustang GT Convertible – 5.0, 5-spd. Up for sale is my Mustang which I have taken excellent care of and hate to see it go. From the list below you will see I have basically replaced everything on the car and it runs and drives excellent. Nothing mechanically performed on this car is done “half way”. I make sure to do things the right way making sure everything works as it should. With that in mind please remember this is a 25 year old car. The car was repainted (prior to me) in Mineral Gray Metallic. All the jambs are painted along with the entire engine bay. You can open the doors, hood and trunk lid and everything is painted. The paint is nice, looks good and shines nice, however is not perfect but I am very picky. I get stares, compliments and people constantly asking about this car when they see it. Below is an extensive list of what I have performed: Exterior: Body of car is in very good condition. This is a rust free car. · 10th Anniversary wheels (Anthracite). 17x10 rear with Sumitomo 275/40 tires and 17x9 front with 245/45 Sumitomo tires. Tires and wheels have less than 2,000 miles on them and are in excellent if not near perfect condition. · Original Ford LX tail lights · Brand new tinted front headlights, diamond style (purchased from UPR) · Black 5.0 badges (new style) · Black Top is original; no holes, rips or tears and does not leak. The exterior of the top still looks really good. I clean and condition it and people have asked if it is new. The inside of the top is where you can tell it is original as it does show typical wear inside. The top goes up, down and latches as it should. · Fiberglass ram air hood, bolt on style (no hood pins). Interior: · New black upholstery purchased from TMI · New black carpet · New door panels (purchased from CJ Pony Parts) · New black seatbelts; front and back (purchased from CJ Pony Parts) · Front windows and rear quarter windows have been rebuilt and aligned. New guide rod bushings in front and rear and installed upgraded guide rod mounts on both rear quarter windows. (Purchase from Late Model Restoration). All windows work properly. The motors were not replaced as they still work fine as do the power lock actuators. · 140 MPH Ford Motorsport speedo and white face gauge kit. Temp controls also have white faces installed. Suspension: · Maximum Motorsports full length weld in subframe connectors with seat braces · Late Model Restoration lowering springs with poly isolators (front and rear) · New front struts and rear shocks (factory KYB replacements) · New passenger side inner and outer tie rods and ball joint. · J&M caster/camber plates · Alignment performed by reputable shop according to Maximum Motorsports specs. I have spec sheet from shop available. Drivetrain: · Fully rebuilt 8.8 rear end with 3.73 gears (rebuilt last summer). Correct speedo gear is installed. · All new brakes, front and rear. Rear drums replaced and all drum hardware is new. Emergency brake functions and is adjusted properly. · Late Model Restoration short throw shifter with white Hurst shifter ball. Engine: · Fresh 302 with less than 5000 miles on it. Stock forged pistons. · Thumper performance ported GT40P cylinder heads. Fully ported and fitted with stainless race flow valves, titanium locks and retainers. Springs good to .560 lift. · FMS GT40P headers – ceramic coated · FMS B303 cam and Crane 1.7 pedestal mount roller rockers · Explorer (GT40 style) intake. Lower intake is fully ported and upper is port matched to lower and inlet opened to 75mm. · 75mm throttle body and spacer · 75mm PRO-M mass air calibrated for 24lb injectors, running stock airbox with K&N filter. · FMS 24lb injectors · 190 lph fuel pump · A9L computer – computer chip burned for mods by dirtydirtyracing.com · Underdrive pulleys · New PA performance 130 amp alternator upgrade kit including 4gauge wiring kit. Motorcraft 130 amp alternator. · New starter and starter solenoid · New Air Conditioning lines, however AC has not yet been charged. Was waiting for summer. · New BBK Off road x-pipe to brand new Dynomax Ultraflow exhaust kit with 2.5” tailpipes. · New Motorcraft o2 sensors · New Motorcraft fuel filter · New ACT (relocated to intake after mass air), ECT and IAC and TPS which is set to correct voltage. I am sure there is much more, I have done more to this car then I can remember. It sounds great and runs very good. This is a strong running car. I will never get back what I have put into this car but whoever buys it will not have to worry about the little things or wonder if the prior owner butchered anything up.
