Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Please take the time to read this entire description carefully as well as our Terms & Conditions. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1999 Honda Civic hatch with a B16 DOHC VTEC engine swap. I would rate the exterior of this Honda to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this is a good looking vehicle. The only bad thing I can say about the exterior of this vehicle is that the front bumper shows damage typical of a lowered vehicle being driven by someone who doesn't know how to drive. Otherwise, this Civic is in pretty good shape. The silver finish shows well all around. The smoked headlights give this Civic a nice look. It's aggressive low stance is complimented by a set of alloy wheels from a Civic Si. The rear tires look good. The fronts should be replaced. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. There is an aftermarket tow hook at the rear bumper...for some reason. The interior of this Civic is in pretty good condition. The door cards are clean and tight. The carpets show well throughout the interior. A set of factory floor mats are included. The seats show well throughout and are comfortable. The dash and headliner are clean. The heater works well. The factory radio has been upgraded to a CD player. The owners manual as well as the original window sticker are included. The cargo area is clean and spacious. There are wires back there should you want to install your own speakers... Mechanically, this Civic may need some attention. The 1.6L DOHC VTEC engine starts easily and runs smoothly. Other than a leak at the valve cover, I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. The suspension on this Civic is nice and tight. I don't know what the exact suspension set up is. In addition to aftermarket springs or coil-overs, I can also see aftermarket suspension arms in the rear. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. The steering is manual and works properly. The brakes stop this Civic with no problems. Again, I would recommend a new set of tires and a front end alignment. The tires are worn, the wheel is a few degrees off and the front end is a little twitchy. I'd guess they never had the alignment done after taking it apart to do the swap. The engine keeps proper temperature. Of course, there is a check engine light on. The airbag light comes and goes. The potential issue with this car is the transmission. It will not go into 2nd gear...at all. Worst case, it needs a transmission which isn't too expensive. It could also be an alignment issue with the shift linkage. It feels a little loose and will not down shift into third. You can upshift into third no problems but third is nearly impossible to find coming down from fourth or fifth so you may luck out and simply have a linkage issue. The clutch feels good. It engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. The engine revs hard and sounds good. This is a fast little Honda. With a minimal amount of work, you could have yourself quite the fun ride. This car can be driven as it is. I've driven it roughly 100 miles. It gets around pretty good without second. Just rev first to just under hi-cam and go to third and it won't bog at all. In addition to aftermarket springs or coil-overs, I can also see aftermarket suspension arms in the rear. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. The steering is manual and works properly. The brakes stop this Civic with no problems. Again, I would recommend a new set of tires and a front end alignment. The tires are worn, the wheel is a few degrees off and the front end is a little twitchy. I'd guess they never had the alignment done after taking it apart to do the swap. The engine keeps proper temperature. Of course, there is a check engine light on. The airbag light comes and goes. The potential issue with this car is the transmission. It will not go into 2nd gear...at all. Worst case, it needs a transmission which isn't too expensive. It could also be an alignment issue with the shift linkage. It feels a little loose and will not down shift into third. You can upshift into third no problems but third is nearly impossible to find coming down from fourth or fifth so you may luck out and simply have a linkage issue. The clutch feels good. It engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. The engine revs hard and sounds good. This is a fast little Honda. With a minimal amount of work, you could have yourself quite the fun ride. This car can be driven as it is. I've driven it roughly 100 miles. It gets around pretty good without second. Just rev first to just under hi-cam and go to third and it won't bog at all. In the event of any bid retraction or bid change, it shall be the right of the seller to honor or not honor the outcome of the auction. Winning bidders:
Winning bidders are required to contact us within 48 hours of auction close and make arrangements for payment and vehicle pick-up. If we do not hear from you within 48 hours, the vehicle may be sold to another buyer. All non-paying bidders will be reported to eBay.
Payment:
Payment is due within 7 days of the auction close.
Cash in person upon pick up is the preferred method of payment. There are other payment options for long distance buyers where paying in person is not possible. Paypal is NOT accepted for payment, nor do we have the ability to accept credit cards.
Vehicle Pick-up:
Arrangements must be made in advance to pick up a vehicle. We do not have regular hours; we operate by-appointment. We are very flexible and accommodating with days and times to pick-up, but must have advance notice or there is a very real possibility you or your shipper may arrive and nobody will be at our facility.
Vehicles paid with cash will be available immediately. If paid by any other method, the vehicle and title will be held until funds have been cleared by my bank.
All vehicles must be collected within 14 days of auction's end. Vehicles left longer than 14 days without a specific exception being made will be subject to a storage fee of $10/day.
Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, ect., and is not applied to any costs incurred by the purchaser.
The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
We are unable to complete any tag or title work (including temp tags) in-house, nor do we collect any sales tax or registration fees. There are Tag & Title locations nearby that can handle those tranactions. We will assist you in that process.
