Here's another fun lil red wagon! I don't get these V40s very often. Great economy and style. I personally drove this car to Indianapolis and back with NO ISSUES! I got a genuine 27.9 MPG average there and back! This was during the cold, warming up the car regularly, with the lesser "winter blend" fuels required by the good ol government. I've logged over 500 miles on it with ZERO complaints. Got me anywhere I needed to go...especially during the coldest of cold days...it was at least 20 degrees outside during my trip. The exterior is an easy 8+ out of 10. Paint shines nicely yet could still use a professional buffing if more is desired. Minimal scratches with zero dents to be found. Only a typical handful of dings are noticeable. I'm no bodyman, but I don't see any signs of any major (or minor) body repaints or repairs. 3 small rust areas...only bubbles. Notice the lip of the hood under the front grill. Others can be seen in below pics. Even tho the vinyl trim is dull, the front and rear bumper covers look great! No major damages, cracks, holes, etc. Front tires are recently new with the older slightly worn Firestone Firehawks on the rear. All ride on nice vibration free rims. Hood and roof are shiney and straight with the 2nd of the rust bubbles area at the window trim line. For whatever reason, this is a very common rust area on these cars. One creased ding on the edge of the door below. Rear bumper cover looks nice save for the vinyl area. Typical to be nicked up a bit and faded. Looks mostly like someone had it painted then time took it's toll. Below you can see the biggest rust spot. Again...VERY typical on the 40 series lineup. Surprisingly, the driver's side is fine. Interior is a super clean 9 out of 10! I HATE smoke and can't see or smell any signs of a former smoker in the car. Cloth seating is super clean. One stained area mostly on the center armrest, easily cleanable. Otherwise it's loaded up with ALL the needed options!! Everything power works from what I can tell: power windows and locks, HEATED SEATS work great, mirrors, dual climate control, AM/FM/CD, cruise, info panel, transmission modes, ICE COLD Air Conditioning, HOT HEAT, etc! Even the factory cupholder is intact! Above and below, you can see ALL the dummy lights illuminate as they should upon startup, with NONE staying on during run. BUT.....there were 2 codes when I got the car. One was the engine temp LOW reading. This was due to the thermostat being worn. I could tell because the heat wasn't hot and the temp reading was...LOW. So a new thermostat was installed. Heat works perfect. Second was a low THRESHOLD O2 reading. Understand that my code reader is basic, so you get what I get. I blame the improper heating of the engine to throw this second code....engine didn't warm up properly, hence the improper O2 reading. The light MAY or MAY NOT come back on. It hasn't since I cleared them. Full factory floormats are included. Unseen is the spare tire setup ready for your roadtrip home. Above you can see all the factory manuals are included. One key and one working keyfob are also included. Also included is the receipt for the recent complete brakework! Front and rear rotors and pads! There is another receipt for a recent alignment as well. The car seems to drive nice and straight with no unusual pulling or wandering or unusual wear on the tires. Probably why the fronts are so recent, too! Below you can see the nice and clean engine compartment. Altho I can't verify the exact date, my professional estimations put the timing belt as being replaced approximately 30k MAX miles ago (when it is supposed to be done). For reference, if the belt was the original, with these miles, it would be dryrotted, cracked and ready to break. It's nearly new looking. The spark plugs are fresh. Air filter is clean. Oil, transmission fluid and coolant is clean. No signs of any major oil or coolant leaks. Definitely no overheating. No spots on my shop floor overnight. Battery is also very a very recent Duralast. It's strong and starts the car effortlessly. Engine is smooth. Turbo is strong and pulls the car nicely. Transmission shifts as it should in all gears. No drivetrain issues. No suspension noises, popping or squeaks. In fact, the right side upper strut mount looks new. Must have been replaced for the alignment to be proper. As stated, the brakes are nearly new all around.
