My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1999 Chevrolet Metro LSi sedan. The Chevy / Geo Metro has a reputation as a reliable and extremely economical vehicle. I would rate the exterior of this Metro to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. It is finished in a nice olive green metallic with the attractive body colored bumpers versus the back bumpers found on lower trim levels. As you can see, the paint is showing oxidization on the hood and roof which is common on these vehicles. There is visible rust on both rockers near the rear wheels as well as a spot on the drivers door. There is no visible body damage. This Metro has a current PA safety and emissions inspection. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. The wheel covers look good. The tires are in good condition and show average tread all around. I would rate the interior of this Metro to also be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. The drivers door panel is missing the pull bar but is easily opened and closed without it. The carpets show in average condition. The seats show well. The dash is clean. The headliner is out (most sag with age). The trunk is spacious and clean. The stereo is original and sounds good. The climate control system appears to be fully functional including ICE COLD A/C. I could not get the left rear door to unlock. Mechanically, this Metro appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 1.3L engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. There is an audible exhaust leak near the front of the car. It isn't terribly loud but you can hear it. It will probably need repaired to pass its next inspection. The suspension feels good. The steering is light and easy. The brakes stop this little car with no issues. Out on the road, this little guy drives very well. It stops and turns on a dime. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. It drives nice and straight with no complaints. Here is the best part of this car...I was doing some napkin math the other day to calculate cost of ownership of this versus other vehicles and it hit me that it would not take long for this car to literally pay for itself if you were switching from a vehicle that got "normal" fuel economy. Since I list everything with NO RESERVE, I don't know how much this little guy will sell for. According to my estimates of what this vehicle is worth and assuming the buyer is currently getting average fuel economy in the mid-teens, this Metro will save the owner enough money to make this a FREE CAR by the time this car has just over 100k miles on it...or just over a year. These cars are known to handle miles well. In theory, this car will literally pay for itself in just over a year and then you are driving a free vehicle for the next few years. Of course, there are tons of factors in that calculation that will depend completely on who buys it...which is out of my control. Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.
Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1999 Chevrolet Metro LSi sedan. The Chevy / Geo Metro has a reputation as a reliable and extremely economical vehicle. I would rate the exterior of this Metro to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. It is finished in a nice olive green metallic with the attractive body colored bumpers versus the back bumpers found on lower trim levels. As you can see, the paint is showing oxidization on the hood and roof which is common on these vehicles. There is visible rust on both rockers near the rear wheels as well as a spot on the drivers door. There is no visible body damage. This Metro has a current PA safety and emissions inspection. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. The wheel covers look good. The tires are in good condition and show average tread all around.
I would rate the interior of this Metro to also be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. The drivers door panel is missing the pull bar but is easily opened and closed without it. The carpets show in average condition. The seats show well. The dash is clean. The headliner is out (most sag with age). The trunk is spacious and clean. The stereo is original and sounds good. The climate control system appears to be fully functional including ICE COLD A/C. I could not get the left rear door to unlock.
Mechanically, this Metro appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 1.3L engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. There is an audible exhaust leak near the front of the car. It isn't terribly loud but you can hear it. It will probably need repaired to pass its next inspection. The suspension feels good. The steering is light and easy. The brakes stop this little car with no issues. Out on the road, this little guy drives very well. It stops and turns on a dime. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. It drives nice and straight with no complaints.
Here is the best part of this car...I was doing some napkin math the other day to calculate cost of ownership of this versus other vehicles and it hit me that it would not take long for this car to literally pay for itself if you were switching from a vehicle that got "normal" fuel economy. Since I list everything with NO RESERVE, I don't know how much this little guy will sell for. According to my estimates of what this vehicle is worth and assuming the buyer is currently getting average fuel economy in the mid-teens, this Metro will save the owner enough money to make this a FREE CAR by the time this car has just over 100k miles on it...or just over a year. These cars are known to handle miles well. In theory, this car will literally pay for itself in just over a year and then you are driving a free vehicle for the next few years. Of course, there are tons of factors in that calculation that will depend completely on who buys it...which is out of my control. Just interesting to consider a car that could seriously pay for itself. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

Bidding:
Please read the entire description and view all pictures before placing a bid. We go out of our way to provide as detailed of a description as possible in addition to posting several dozen photos of each unit. If you have any questions or concerns that have not been addressed within our listing, feel free to send us an email so that we may address your specific question before placing your bid. Please wait to place your bid until you are completely comfortable with what you're bidding on.
By placing a bid on any of our auctions, you assert that you have read and agree to our entire terms & conditions as well as eBay's terms & conditions. Additionally, you enter into a binding contract to purchase the item they are bidding on should you be the winning bidder. By placing a bid on any of our auctions, each bidder asserts that they understand the risks of purchasing a used vehicle and have fully exercised their ability to complete any diligence or any any questions needed PRIOR to placing their bid.
In the event of any bid retraction or bid change, it shall be the right of the seller to honor or not honor the outcome of the auction. This decision will be made at the sole discretion of the seller and can be made at any time while the auction is live or after the auction closes. Additionally, any member who changes or withdraws a bid may be permanently barred from bidding on future auctions.
The seller may, at its sole discretion and for any reason deemed appropriate, cancel any bid or restrict any member from bidding on current and future auctions.
Winning bidders:
Winning bidders are required to contact us within 48 hours of auction close and make arrangements for payment and vehicle pick-up. If we do not hear from you within 48 hours, the vehicle may be sold to another buyer. All non-paying bidders will be reported to eBay.
Payment:
Payment is due within 7 days of the auction close.
Cash in person upon pick up is the preferred method of payment. There are other payment options for long distance buyers where paying in person is not possible. Paypal is NOT accepted for payment, nor do we have the ability to accept credit cards.
Vehicle Pick-up:
Arrangements must be made in advance to pick up a vehicle. We do not have regular hours; we operate by-appointment. We are very flexible and accommodating with days and times to pick-up, but must have advance notice or there is a very real possibility you or your shipper may arrive and nobody will be at our facility.
Vehicles paid with cash will be available immediately. If paid by any other method, the vehicle and title will be held until funds have been cleared by my bank.
All vehicles must be collected within 14 days of auction's end. Vehicles left longer than 14 days without a specific exception being made will be subject to a storage fee of $10/day.
Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, ect., and is not applied to any costs incurred by the purchaser.
The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
We are unable to complete any tag or title work (including temp tags) in-house, nor do we collect any sales tax or registration fees. There are Tag & Title locations nearby that can handle those tranactions. We will assist you in that process.
