1966 GMC/Chevy Suburban Carryall, 3 speed (3 on the tree), rear wheel drive. Optional V6, 305 E engine-very popular option for it's reliability and pulling ability. This truck originally came out of southern Tennessee-I bought it from the 2nd owner who lived in southern Kentucky. He let it sit ouside and some water leaked in and as a result, some rust started under the rubber floor mat (see photos). The factory rubber floor mats were brittle, so I removed them to expose the floorboards. BODY: Rear quarter behind bumper has baseball size dent. Front fenders have typical rust issues for 1960-66 GMC/Chevy trucks, but not as bad as most (see photos). One rear quarter has small rust (see photo). Some surface rust is on grill/hood area, but only surface rust. Floor pans are mostley solid, but as a result of water under the rubber mat, some rust has occured, going all the way thru (see photos). Rear storage area is solid, no rust issues. Rockers are fixable w/o replacing them. INTERIOR: Interior is in excellent shape-the seats were recovered some time back, headliner is good, and dash has no scratches or dents. Interior color is the standard GM silver/gray. Instrument panel is intact w/o alterations. Wipers work, but are slow. Heater motor blows slow-missing one lever. Driver window operates, but needs assistance to go to the top. One rear-side window operates fine-other is stuck. All glass is intact, but windshield has crack. This vehicle has rare factory under the dash AC, but compressor is missing. Speedo works, but is noisy until you get above 30 mph. Red plastic lenses over GEN/OIL/TURN, etc, are sunbacked, so gone. Glove box door is there, but interior of glove box is missing. Doors shut like vault doors-solid. EXTERIOR: Body is solid, original color appears to have been brown. All rubber moldings should be replaced. No spare tire. Rear "clam" doors operate fine, but upper clam is missing supports (2) assembly that holds it open. ENGINE/TRANSMISSION: Optional V6 305E-very strong running engine. It starts right up, idles very quietly, and runs great-no smoke, no knocks. Tranny shifts fine-clutch is strong. GENERAL: Vehicle will need tires (they have average tread, but are weather-checked). All window/door rubber weather stripping should be replaced. I have clear title still in previous owners name, but will change into my name this week. This vehicle can be driven, but brakes are "IFFY", and shocks need to be replaced. I have 2 factory service manuals that will go with vehicle. I bought this vehicle as my next project, but after buying it I found a better one. It is cool to drive and I get "thumbs up" from people all the time. It can be driven while you work on it, restore it, or leave it as it is. I have 100% postive feedback, and plan on keeping it. I have done my best to describe this vehicle, hiding nothing, taking photos that show the worse areas. I forgot to mention I installed a new battery (850 cold cranking amps-3 year warranty), have the original jack & jack handle. If you are going to swap out engines I'd be willing to reduce the price, for I would like to keep the V6 if it's nothing more than a boat anchor for you (no, you aren't financing your new 572 off of me).
