HELLO, I AM OFFERING A PARTIALLY REBUILT / RESTORED AND VERY RARE 1953 INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER PICK-UP TRUCK IN GOOD RUNNING CONDITION WITH A NEARLY COMPLETE ENGINE OVERHAUL LAST YEAR THAT INCLUDED ALL BRAND NEW PISTONS,RINGS,BEARINGS,ROD BEARINGS,NEW CARBURETOR, NEW OEM FUEL PUMP, NEW HOSES, NEW CHOKE, NEW VALVES/LIFTERS, NEW BELT, SPARKPLUGS,POINTS,CONDENSER, COIL, ETC. I HAVE SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS IN PARTS ALONE FOR THIS ALL ORIGINAL TRUCK OVER THE PAST 36 MONTHS. THIS TRUCK HAS THE ORIGINAL ENGINE [REBUILT], TRANSMISSION [REWORKED AND READY], DRIVE TRAIN, ETC AND IT IS AN EXTREMELY RARE SHORT WHEELBASE, WHICH YOU HARDLY EVER SEE IN THE EARLY INTERNATIONALS, ESPECIALLY THE 1953 MODEL YEAR. THE TRUCK HAS ITS ORIGINAL 220 ENGINE, WHICH IS A STRAIGHT SIX, AND ITS ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION, WHICH IS A THREE SPEED ON THE COLUMN [WITH SYNCHRONIZERS], SO IT SHIFTS EASILY UNLIKE MOST OF THE OLD PICK-UPS FROM THIS PERIOD. THIS TRUCK HAS A STRONG CLUTCH,PRESSURE PLATE AND THROWOUT BEARING AND IT CAN BE DRIVEN JUST LIKE IT SITS. WE PUT A BRAND NEW OEM MASTER CYLINDER, AND NEW OEM WHEEL CYLINDERS AND AND BRAKES ON THE FRONT, AND WE HAVE THE ONES FOR THE BACK BUT THEY NEED TO BE INSTALLED. WE INSTALLED A NEW ALUMINUM FUEL TANK IN THE BED WITH NEW FUEL LINES AND AN EXTERNAL ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP AS WELL AS A BRAND NEW ORIGINAL MECHANICAL FUEL PUMP AND NEW FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR TO ASSURE THE ENGINE WAS GETTING FUEL CORRECTLY. THE BODY IS VERY DECENT FOR AN OLD ORIGINAL 1953 PICK-UP TRUCK, BUT AS YOU WILL SEE FROM THE PICTURES, IT HAS LOTS OF DENTS AND DINGS THROUGHOUT AND IF YOU WERE GOING TO BRING IT TO SHOW QUALITY IT WOULD NEED LOTS OF WORK, WHICH WE HAD PLANNED TO DO EVENTUALLY, BUT DUE TO A DEATH IN THE FAMILY I NEED TO SELL IT NOW. I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK WITH THE INTENTIONS OF A FULL RESTORE EVENTUALLY, BUT FIRST I WANTED TO GET IT MECHANICALLY SOUND. SO I STARTED ON THE MECHANICAL AND STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY AND JUST QUICKLY PATCHED ANY RUST THAT WAS FOUND, SANDED AND SPRAYED IT WITH IH RED PAINT TO KEEP IT FROM RUSTING WHILE A FULL RESTORE WAS UNDERWAY, HOWEVER AS I MENTIONED,DUE TO MY FATHERS DEATH I WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO FINISH THE FULL RESTORE, BUT IT IS STILL VERY COOL JUST AS IT IS.THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS TAKEN APART, CLEANED AND LUBRICATED AND REFILLED WITH OIL AND IT WORKS GREAT. THE INTERIOR IS PARTIALLY REFINISHED AS WELL WITH THE ORIGINAL BENCH SEAT REMOVED AND AN OLD SET OF BUCKET SEATS INSTALLED. THE DASH WAS SANDED AND PAINTED AND IT IS IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE WITH ALL OF THE ORIGINAL CHRONE HANDLES,KNOBS,ETC. THE WINDSHIELD AND ALL THE WINDOWS / SEALS ARE STILL THE ORIGINALS, BUT WORK FINE FOR A 60+ YEAR OLD TRUCK. I HAVE HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF MAN HOURS AS WELL AS MECHANICS HOURS IN THIS PICKUP AND AN UNTOLD AMOUNT OF MONEY SPENT ON IT BUT I AM IN A SITUATION THAT I NEED TO SELL IT AND THEREFORE IT WILL BE SOLD. I DO NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL TITLE FOR THE TRUCK, HOWEVER I DO HAVE A CLEAR KENTUCKY TITLE FOR A TRUCK THAT I USED AS A PARTS DONOR THAT IS A 1950'S INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER AS WELL AND THIS WILL COME WITH THE PACKAGE DEAL.YOU CAN CERTAINLY GET A REBUILT TITLE THROUGH YOUR LOCAL DMV IF YOU CHOSE TO GO THAT ROUTE. I WILL GLADLY INCLUDED A BILL OF SALE FOR YOU AS WELL AS A LIST OF EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN DONE TO THE TRUCK THUS FAR. THIS IS A PRETTY RARE TRUCK AND IF IT WERE FULLY RESTORED IT WOULD BE WORTH ALOT OF MONEY AND I HAVE SEEN THEM SELL FOR $35,000.00 PLUS AT CLASSIC AUCTIONS. THIS EARLY INTERNATIONAL HAS BEEN UPGRADED FROM SIX VOLT POSITIVE GROUND TO A TWELVE VOLT NEGATIVE GROUND AS WELL, SO THIS IS A HUGE PLUS WHEN IT COMES TO RELIABILITY AND EASE OF USE. THE 6 VOLT GENERATOR HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH A BRAND NEW 12 VOLT ALTERNATOR WHILE KEEPING THE ORIGINAL ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION,ETC WHICH KEEPS THE "ORIGINALITY" OF THE TRUCK INTACT AND MAKES IT MORE FUNCTIONAL IN THE PROCESS. THE TRUCKS PAINT HAS LOTS OF RUNS AND IT NEEDS SOME DENTS AND DINGS FIXED, BUT IT IS STILL COOL AS IT IS AND I HAD THE DECALS MADE ONLINE SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS TRUCK, HOWEVER THEY CAN LIKELY BE REMOVED IF FOR SOME REASON YOU DONT LIKE THEM. THIS WOULD MAKE AN EXCELLENT FULL RESTORATION PROJECT OR A CUSTOM RATROD, OR CAN JUST BE LEFT JUST LIKE IT IS AND DRIVEN AND BROUGHT TO CARS SHOWS, ITS COMPLETELY UP TO THE BUYER! I AM GOING TO PUT A PRICE ON THE TRUCK WHICH I BELIEVE IS VERY REASONABLE AND I WILL ALSO BE GLAD TO CONSIDER PARTIAL OR FULL TRADES AS WELL. THE TRUCK HAD THE TAILLIGHTS,HEADLIGHTS CHANGED TO 12 VOLT AS WELL AS THE DASHLIGHTS,ETC. I DROVE THE TRUCK A COUPLE OF MILES DOWN THE BACKROADS YESTERDAY AND IT RAN AND DROVE AND SHIFTED FINE. IT CERTAINLY COULD USE THE REAR BRAKES INSTALLED BUT IT WILL STOP OK JUST LIKE IT IS. IT IS A VERY, VERY COOL OLD TRUCK AND YOU WILL NOT SEE MANY OTHERS LIKE IT ANYWHERE. IT IS A 1953 INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER R110 [SHORT BED] WITH ITS ORIGINAL 220 ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION,DRIVETRAIN,ETC AND WELL WORTH A LOOK!
