Vehicle Detail
I've owned this rare and unusual convertible for a few years and driven it regularly. It has been extremely reliable and a lot of fun to drive. People are always asking what kind of car it is and comment on it's stylish looks and gorgeous interior when I'm cruising around with the top down. If you found this listing, you probably know the story of the TC. As you may know, only 7300 of these were manufactured over a three year period. These unique luxury two seat sports cars were over $35,000 new! The body and beautifully hand-stitched leather interior was styled and assembled in Italy, the engine is Japanese (Mitsubishi) the same reliable engine that is used in the Dodge Caravan and the rest of it is American. So... Italian style and design, Japanese economy and reliability and American comfort, ride, durability and convenience. You may notice that this one has a rear seat. I had it custom made in black leather to match the original interior. It is an actual car seat frame modified to fit exactly into the rear space and outfitted with two seat belts. The match and fit is so precise, it looks as if it is a four seat convertible from the factory. I believe it is the only four seat TC in existence. The sporty 16" rims are from a Subaru WRX. I have the original 15" Fontanmetal Italian rims that came with the car, and they are included in the sale. The transmission was rebuilt less than 2k miles ago. The air-conditioner is intact but needs recharging/service. The mechanism that pulls down the rear anchors to lock down the tops is not working properly. There is a manual lock-down override that I've been using to lock down the rear anchors. The trunk lock works, but the key has to be gently inserted into the lock before turning the key. Eventually the lock will have to be replaced. The leather arm rest between the front bucket seats has a crack in the leather. The odometer stopped working over a year ago, so the mileage listed is a close estimate. On Mar-05-13 at 20:02:42 PST, seller added the following information: The vehicle comes with the original factory hard top as well as the black cloth soft top. On Mar-08-13 at 13:58:11 PST, seller added the following information: I wasn't allowed to add or swap pictures to the auction, so if anyone wants the pics of the driver's seat, or any other requests, please ask and I will send them to you directly. Thanks and good luck.
