Vehicle Detail

Unlike the ebayer I bought this from, I will be completely honest, just like I am with every vehicle I sell. Its a 1988 YJ Wrangler with the 2.5 liter 4 cylinder and AX-5 5 speed manual transmission. The transmission is from a 1998 Wrangler and has the external slave cylinder. The transfer case is an NP-231 from a 1995 model wrangler. Right after i bought the jeep the transmission ran dry of fluid and i had to replace it. When i went to remove the transfer case i drained the oil and a spring drained out, so i replaced the transfer case instead of tearing the old one apart. New parts are: slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder, clutch, pressure plate, clutch line, air filter, clutch pedal pad, brake pedal pad, ebrake pedal pad, gas pedal, windshield frame to body seal, windshield wiper motor, wiper blades, windshield tie down kit, hood grommets. Fresh synthetic fluid in the transmission and tcase, and clutch system. Differential fluid is full and looks good. Oil is full and looks good. Brakes work good. Cd player and sound bar works. Heat works good, all signals and lights work, even dash lights. All gauges except clock work. The odometer works and reads 143,XXX, I'm not sure if thats original miles or not. The spark plugs were perfectly clean and well worn when I replaced them the other day so it does not burn oil, seems to have good compression (plenty of power) and does not smoke.Even passes emissions in GA. The good: Runs great Shifts great Four wheel drive works great Good brakes Decent tires New top New radiator and electric fan RUST FREE and I mean really rust free New roll bar pads New aftermarket seats in front New muffler and catalytic converter New windshield and gasket New aftermarket electric fan New ignition cylinder New wiper motor and wipers 4.5in lift (3 body, 1.5 shackles) The bad: All bushings are original, this means the steering is a little sloppy, all grease points have been greased but a new bushing kit ($100) should be installed in the next couple years. Tires are ok, but the passenger side front has a cut on the sidewall. It does not leak but I like to be honest. The spare does leak because it has a patch on the sidewall. The exhaust header has a small leak. It ticks. I have not seen the leak, maybe its cracked, maybe its just a piece of gasket blown out. Either way its not hard to replace. The paint is aftermarket, looks to be industrial type paint. They oversprayed in lots of places. Thats why i replaced a lot of little parts. I cant stand overspray. The paint has runs, and orange peel. It looks great from 10 ft away and everybody says how good the Jeep looks but it needs to be mentioned. The horns work, but when I replaced the ignition I had to pull the steering wheel and I must not have replaced the horn switch correctly because it grounds when it wants to. The high beam switch was disconnected and Im not sure how to reconnect it, I havent needed them yet. There are a few dents and dings, the most visible is to the drivers side rear around the tail light. Thats all I can think of, mostly minor stuff, it looks good, runs good, four wheel drive works good and its fully driveable as is and I drive it every day. I just like to let people know up front what to expect, when I bought it almost none of those things had been mentioned. I encourage anyone to test drive. I would never stick someone with a vehicle the wasnt as expected. After the transmission and all that work and parts I will be taking a good sized loss selling this Jeep, but as anyone who comes to look, or buy will see, my mother has advanced cancer and now lives with me. This will require a more appropriate vehicle to take her places, she cant climb up in the Jeep and its too rough a ride for tired bones. Thats the only reason Im selling
