Vehicle Detail
Ideal candidate for full restoration, Rat Rod build, or just driving and enjoying! This pickup has an all steel body and bed, except for the running boards which are fiberglass. The bed floor is wooden, as it was originally. The truck is equipped with a Flathead V8 engine with 2-bbl carburetor and a 3-speed manual transmission. The truck starts right up and runs well. The electrical system has been converted from 6-volt to 12-volt system to enhance easier starting. However, the 6-volt generator, as well as the original 4-blade fan (an electric cooling fan is now installed) come with the truck in the event one wants to revert to the original 6-volt system. The truck is equipped with an AM Radio and a heater. The radio is not working. All gauges, including the speedometer, work with the exception of the amp meter which seems to work in reverse (goes down when the engine is running and up when the key is turned off). The body has some rust spots(see photos), particularly in lower fender areas, that will need attention in a full restoration. Most of the truck is in gray primer. Previously it was painted a gray metallic color. The frame is solid with only surface rust. The windshield and roll-up side glasses are in good to very good condition. The rear glass is delaminating around the edges. Most of the trim pieces for each side of the hood as well as elsewhere on the truck come with the truck. Boxes of parts shown in the photos also come with the truck. Wheels and tires are in very good condition. Seller will assist with shipping but buyer is responsible for shipping costs or local pick up. A deposit of $1,000 will be required of the winning bidder within 24 hours of the auction's end with the balance due within 7 days. Checks, wire transfer or cash (in person) are acceptable forms of payment, however, any check must clear before the truck will be released to the buyer. Questions? Contact Alan at (703) 623-7378 or via email through eBay. Note: I reserve the right to end this auction early as the truck is also advertised locally.
