Vehicle Detail

1996 Geo Metro 4 Door Sedan This is a fixer. The main problem is that the syncros are going out on the manual transmission, so it needs to be replaced or rebuilt. Second gear is out completely and first is popping out of gear (I have been driving in town only by holding first in gear, then shifting to third. So, it can be driven, but it's on its' last leg until repaired. Headliner sagging, windshield is cracked and has minor damage on the drivers door and fender (The mechanism that limits the distance the door opens broke and the door and fender bent each other as a result). In severe cold temps, lifters/valves ping when first started. Probably should have a lighter weight oil in this weather, as it currently is filled with 10W/30 synthetic. I imagine a lighter oil would alleviate that issue, but I'm not putting $$$ into it to find out. Has A/C option, but not working and I have never tried to diagnose it. Both front window regulators need to be replaced. No radio. Battery not included, as it is borrowed. It also needs a good cleaning. This is a California car that has been in Ohio for about 18 months. The frame has no rust, which is a major issue for these cars in this area. To my knowledge, this car has never been in an accident and has a clear title, which is in my name. All four cylinders have good compression (approximately 160-170). Within the last 2000 miles, I have replaced spark plugs, cap, rotor, pcv valve, thermostat, air filter, engine coolant sensor, front pads, a-arms and inner and outer tie rods (both sides). It also has four brand new tires from Firestone (about 1600 miles on them). I also cleaned the egr out, cleaned the throttle body, flushed the radiator and cleaned the motor by using seafoam. I intended to replace the transmission and fix the other minor issues because this has been a very reliable vehicle, but I must return to California promptly and don't have time for the project. My loss is your gain. I will be happy to show the car to prospective bidders, car is in New Carlisle, OH. I have described the vehicle to the best of my knowledge. Please bid only if you intend to pay based on the information provided in this listing. Car must be paid for and picked up within 48 hours of auction close. Cash on pickup only. Must be paid in full by 2/25. If not paid for by 2/25, it will go to the scrapyard. If you bid, please don't waste my time and cost me a paying bidder by not paying according to these time constraints. I am leaving Ohio on Feb 26th. I will be happy to answer any other questions which I may not have addressed.
