Vehicle Detail
Summary: Up for sale is my 2002 Cadillac Escalade AWD with a 6.0 Vortec V8 engine. This is a 2-owner (both adults), no stories, no accidents-vehicle with low miles (~11k/year). I completed over $5,000 in maintenance in the past 6,000 miles; the truck is turn-key and ready to go. This is a GM executive vehicle and was ordered in 2001 by the previous owner, a friend of mine. I purchased this in August of 2008 with 56,000 miles. Since then, I have had a worry-free experience, day-in and day-out. It is no secret why the Escalade put Cadillac back on the map. This truck has aged well and continues to show as new thanks to being garaged every day since new in 2002. In my previous life, I detailed cars professionally, so the passion and care continued on this vehicle; more on that below. As far as defects and problems, there are very few, and nothing serious. I am being extra thorough here since this is an internet listing. The rear bumper and driver’s door have a couple of scuffs and chips that have been touched-up, wetsanded, and polished. While they are hardly noticeable, I know they are there, so I must note that. There are also a couple of small dings on the front driver’s and front passenger’s door. The driver’s side heated seat does not work (hasn’t worked since I’ve owned it, but being in Texas hasn’t pushed me to have it fixed). There are a few lights on the radio buttons that do not light up, but the buttons work fine. There is also a small dent and paint chip on the passenger side fender (pictured). Let me reiterate, this is the cleanest and best maintained 2nd Generation Escalade on the market today. The AutoCheck score of 84 is above average and this truck shows and drives like it has half the miles. Recent maintenance (within 5000 miles) includes: New cabin filters ($40) K&N 1-Million Mile air filter ($50) New air compressor for load leveling suspension (common problem for Escalades)($600) Front-end alignment ($75) Front brakes – rotors & pads ($340) Rear brakes – rotors & pads ($340) Front differential fluid changed ($100) Rear differential fluid changed ($100) Transfer case fluid changed ($100) Transmission fluid/filter changed ($175) Fuel filter replaced ($75) Intake hoses replaced ($150) PCV valve replaced ($50) Fuel pump replaced ($850) Water pump replaced ($400) Thermostat replaced ($25) Drive belts replaced ($150) Spark plugs replaced ($200) Oil change ($40) New Bridgestone tires ($1,300) Total = $5,160Modifications include: 2009 OEM Cadillac Escalade 22” Chrome Wheels ($3000) Tinted front windows ($80) Sirius Satellite Radio ($120) WeatherTech DigitalFit All-Weather floor mats and cargo liner ($290) HID 4300k headlight conversion ($175) Debadged rear tailgateTotal = $3,665 Overview:2002 Cadillac Escalade AWDVIN: 1GYEK63N52R163388Jet Black paint / Charcoal Gray leather6.0L V8 Engine : 345hp, 380tq4-speed automatic transmission with tow-mode124,xxx milesBrake life remaining (Front – 95%, Rear 90%)Tire life remaining (95%)Standard features include: Rear parking sensors Homelink garage door opening system Bose stereo with 6-disc changer in dash Steering wheel mounted stereo controls Front & rear climate control Zebrano wood trim Towing package with 8500lb capacity (never used, wiring kit in factory wrapping) 10-way power/heated/memory front seats Heated rear seats Rear stereo controls Load-leveling air suspension StabiliTrack 3-rows of seating for 8-passenger capacity (3rd row included but not pictured) OnStar Includes only option available: Power MoonroofRegular maintenance includes: Oil Change at recommended intervals or sooner 93 Octane from Shell or Chevron, only Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner every 10k milesRegular cleaning includes: Wash car with gentle car wash using 2 sheep skin mitts and 2 buckets (1 wash, 1 rinse) and dry with waffle weave microfiber drying towel Degrease wheel wells and tires, then dress with water-based dressing Pressure wash undercarriage clean wheels, then apply spray paint sealant (helps repel dust and road grime) Vacuum entire interior, dust out crevices and vents, and wipe down entire interior with Quick Detail Spray Mist Quick Detail Spray and wipe down all jambs Lightly polish exhaust pipe Use Quick Detail Spray on entire exterior to enhance gloss, paint slickness, and durability against the elements Biannual detailing includes: Clay bar procedure Machine polish paint with light compound and finishing polish to remove swirl marks, water spots, etching, dull spots, and light scratches Apply two layers of Zaino paint sealant for ultimate protection against the elements Reviews: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/car/00q4/2002_cadillac_escalade-road_test http://www.automotive.com/2002/12/cadillac/escalade/reviews/index.html http://www.edmunds.com/cadillac/escalade/2002/review.html http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/2002-cadillac-escalade.htm http://www0.epinions.com/reviews/auto_Make-2002_Cadillac_Escalade Warranty: The vehicle is being sold AS-IS, no warranty.
