Vehicle Detail

I've owned this car for 16 years, I'm the 3rd owner. The first owner bought the car in Arizona, and kept it as a collectors item, The engine destroying the thermal reactors were immediately taken off the car, and she was kept up on blocks for 5 years. The second owner was a female attorney in Bellingham Wa who babied the car. I too have taken great care of the car, especially the mechanicals. This car looks and drives like new (with the exception of the two front seats, which I have not reupholstered because I have a dog who loves to ride with me in the car (this is not an expensive problem, I have good upholstery contacts if you require). The car has not been in an accident, the body is perfectly straight with even gaps on the body panels and there are no door dings. There is one very small dent in the engine lid. The car is very ridged (doors open and close easily even on a auto lift). She has 136,600 miles on the original 2.7 liter 6 cylinder engine and all numbers are matching (components are original). The compression is near perfect (as my mechanic says, "this engine was built on a very good day". I have done the following upgrades to the car, most in the past 5 years: new paint in original color, hydraulic chain tensioners added, Carrera Turbo valve covers added, new Koni Struts, new engine mounts, new oil cooler, complete rebuild of the clutch linkage and the pedal set, new clutch, complete rebuild of the steering box, new Michelin Pilot tires (less than 2000 miles on them), new plug wires, new brakes, belts, transmission service, headlights, coil and ignition module. The folding roof is in good condition. Needless to say she runs strong, shifts sweet, and is awesome in the corners. The car originally had air conditioning installed but I removed it; I have all the components in a box for you, but frankly who needs the extra weight when you have a convertible? 1977 is the first year that Porsche fully galvanized the 911 and subsequently this car can be used much as a daily driver without worry of rust; the body and undercarriage are rust free (pictures of the floorboards and trunk etc available upon request) but there is a tiny bubble in the paint near the windshield. The S in 911S signifies the upper end of this model, only the Carrera was above this car in prestige and it was pretty much a race car. This car's fuel injected engine was also built in the very last few months of the 2.7 liter's production (1978 introduced the 911SC with it's 3.0 engine which also moved the 911 away from it's more classic original body styling) and by this time the one significant flaw of the 2.7 engine, which allowed the head bolts to pull loose, had been addressed by Porsche - totally bonus! If you've never driven a Targa, its the best convertible ever, not only do you have a built in roll bar always, but, unlike most full convertibles, there is no backdraft of air in the cockpit, so it stays warm, your girlfriend's hair doesn't get wrecked, and your business papers don't get swept out of the cockpit when the top is off - I've driven plenty of times in the rain and snow with the top off, and as long as you keep moving the elements blow right over the car - hyperspace fun! I have the car serviced at the Porsche Dealership here in Bellingham (Roger Jobs) and she's all ready to go for as long of a drive as you like. I'm sad to sell this amazing car, she's never broken down or left me stranded and she's loads of fun. She turns heads and the ladies love the brown color, but for me its time for a big sailing adventure, so the car goes. Oh yeah, and she does have a Alpine CD player and amplifier (though the CD player skips if you hit a good bump) with really nice Boston Acoustic speakers up front, Sony's in the rear - plenty nice and loud. There are '75 -'77 cars going for 20-30k today on e-bay and the '74 and earlier cars are going for 60-160,000 now; the 356's that used to be dirt cheap hobby ars are almost unattainable now; in just a few more years this car will substantially escalate in value, I wish I could wait that long.
