1999 Ford Ranger EV. This is a factory produced electric vehicle built by Ford. This is NOT a conversion. This vehicle is powered by NiMH batteries located under the bed, which are charged from your 220 VAC 30 amp household electric service. It does not use gasoline or any other fosil fuel. A charger is included which plugs into a dryer outlet or similar. From full discharge it requires 4-5 hours to reach full charge. Driving is a pleasant experience. The electric drive is very quiet, even at freeway speeds. The vehicle has a standard Ranger bed and can haul a 1/2 ton payload. Because the starting torque of the electric motors is high the truck accelerates quickly from a stop. It has a top speed of about 70 MPH. Depending on how and where you drive, this vehicle gets up to about 50 miles per charge. It never requires a tune up or oil change, and is a zero emission vehicle. The body and interior are in good condition. The bed has a liner and a toneau cover. This vehicle runs well and has no known mechanical/electrical issues. Just charge it up and go have fun. You can drive It for a fraction of the cost of operating a gas powered vehicle. The vehicle is completely stock with the exception of a slide opening rear window, which was not offered on the original truck. The interior floor coverings are vinyl with fabric seat covers, which was stock on these as they were originally fleet vehicles.
