I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am neither a mechanic nor do I have an auto service facility. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description, read my terms & conditions and review each of the photos carefully BEFORE asking questions and BEFORE placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a very nice 2001 BMW 540i. This vehicle needs no introduction. The 2001-03 BMW 5 series is the most desirable of the E39 cars and hold there value incredibly well, thanks in part to the terrible American designed E60 which was introduced in 2004. I would rate the exterior of this 540i to be in ECXELLENT CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this 540i is absolutely stunning to look at. It is finished in a very desirable silver over black. The exterior of this BMW looks great. I'm sure she isn't perfect but you'd have to look pretty hard to find anything to complain about on this one. The finish is nearly flawless. Even the bumpers show almost no marks. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. A low beam headlight out is the worst thing I can say about the exterior of this BMW. This 540i is wearing an attractive set of M5 wheels which gives this one a very aggressive look. The finish on the wheels is good except one has some chips. The tires look good all around. Please take the time to review each of the photos closely. I would rate the interior of this 540i to also be in EXCELLENT CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. Please check out all of the interior pictures to see how clean this BMW is. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets and headliner show well throughout the interior. The dash shows well. The black leather seats also show well and are comfortable. Both front seats are heated. The power windows, locks, seats, sunroof and mirrors work properly. The factory remote entry is also working properly. Pride in ownership shows throughout every inch of this BMW. The wood trim shows well. The climate control is fully automatic and appears to be in proper working condition. It offers independent settings for the driver and passenger. The audio system is the factory premium sound which sounds great. There is a CD changer in the trunk. This BMW has the factory GPS navigation through the optional WIDE SCREEN DISPLAY. The original owners books are included. Mechanically, this BMW appears to be in good running and driving condition. While looking through this car, I found a folder stuffed with service records for this car. I didn't go through them one by one but it looks pretty thorough. Some of the records go back to around the 50k mile mark. The entire folder will go with the car for the new owner to sort through. The 4.4L 282hp V8 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. This is one of the smoothest 4.4's I've had in a while. It idles in almost complete silence with no chain noise. The suspension on this 540i feels pretty tight. You can feel a little play in the lower bushings which is common as these age so you should plan to have them done within the next year. The whole lower kit costs about $250 and is about 5 hours in labor for any qualified technician...you don't need a BMW specialist for this routine service item. The steering is neutral and responsive. The brakes have been upgraded with cross-drilled performance rotors up front and stop this sedan with no problems. Her road manners are great. The engine makes great power so accelleration is effortless. Highway cruising is also effortless. She will cruise at highway speeds without breaking a sweat. The engine keeps proper temperature at all times. The ZF five speed adaptive drive automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. The sport suspension with the aggressive tires help this 540i perform like a much smaller car. This 540i will out accellerate and out corner what most people consider "sports cars"...except this one does it with three of your best friends along, the air conditioner on and one hand on the wheel. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am neither a mechanic nor do I have an auto service facility. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description, read my terms & conditions and review each of the photos carefully BEFORE asking questions and BEFORE placing a bid. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a very nice 2001 BMW 540i. This vehicle needs no introduction. The 2001-03 BMW 5 series is the most desirable of the E39 cars and hold there value incredibly well, thanks in part to the terrible American designed E60 which was introduced in 2004. I would rate the exterior of this 540i to be in ECXELLENT CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this 540i is absolutely stunning to look at. It is finished in a very desirable silver over black. The exterior of this BMW looks great. I'm sure she isn't perfect but you'd have to look pretty hard to find anything to complain about on this one. The finish is nearly flawless. Even the bumpers show almost no marks. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. A low beam headlight out is the worst thing I can say about the exterior of this BMW. This 540i is wearing an attractive set of M5 wheels which gives this one a very aggressive look. The finish on the wheels is good except one has some chips. The tires look good all around. Please take the time to review each of the photos closely.
I would rate the interior of this 540i to also be in EXCELLENT CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. Please check out all of the interior pictures to see how clean this BMW is. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets and headliner show well throughout the interior. The dash shows well. The black leather seats also show well and are comfortable. Both front seats are heated. The power windows, locks, seats, sunroof and mirrors work properly. The factory remote entry is also working properly. Pride in ownership shows throughout every inch of this BMW. The wood trim shows well. The climate control is fully automatic and appears to be in proper working condition. It offers independent settings for the driver and passenger. The audio system is the factory premium sound which sounds great. There is a CD changer in the trunk. This BMW has the factory GPS navigation through the optional WIDE SCREEN DISPLAY. The original owners books are included.
Mechanically, this BMW appears to be in good running and driving condition. While looking through this car, I found a folder stuffed with service records for this car. I didn't go through them one by one but it looks pretty thorough. Some of the records go back to around the 50k mile mark. The entire folder will go with the car for the new owner to sort through. The 4.4L 282hp V8 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. This is one of the smoothest 4.4's I've had in a while. It idles in almost complete silence with no chain noise. The suspension on this 540i feels pretty tight. You can feel a little play in the lower bushings which is common as these age so you should plan to have them done within the next year. The whole lower kit costs about $250 and is about 5 hours in labor for any qualified technician...you don't need a BMW specialist for this routine service item. The steering is neutral and responsive. The brakes have been upgraded with cross-drilled performance rotors up front and stop this sedan with no problems. Her road manners are great. The engine makes great power so accelleration is effortless. Highway cruising is also effortless. She will cruise at highway speeds without breaking a sweat. The engine keeps proper temperature at all times. The ZF five speed adaptive drive automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. The sport suspension with the aggressive tires help this 540i perform like a much smaller car. This 540i will out accellerate and out corner what most people consider "sports cars"...except this one does it with three of your best friends along, the air conditioner on and one hand on the wheel. Winning bidders:
Winning bidders are required to contact us within 48 hours of auction close and make arrangements for payment and vehicle pick-up. If contact has not been established and arrangments are not made within 4 days of auction close, we reserve the right to open an unpaid item case with eBay and sell the vehicle to someone else.
Vehicle Pick-up:
Arrangements must be made in advance to pick up a vehicle. We do not have regular hours, we operate by-appointment. We are very flexible and accomodating with days and times to pick-up, but must have advance notice or there is a very real possibility you or your shipper may arrive and nobody will be at our facility.
Accepted Payment Methods:
Cash is the preferred method of payment. Other payment arrangements may be made, please contact us to make those arrangements.
Payment is due within 7 days of the auction close. Vehicle will be immediately available for pick up if paid by cash in person. Payments made by wire transfer, check (cashiers or personal), or money order will be subject to verification of funds by my bank. The vehicle and title will be held until all funds have been cleared by my bank and made available for withdraw.
Paypal is not accepted for payment. This includes Bill Me Later.
All vehicles shall be removed within 14 days of auction's end. Any vehicle left longer than 14 days without specific arrangements and exception being made will be subject to a storage fee of $10/day.
Bid Retractions/Changes:
We take selling vehicles on eBay very seriously. In the event of any bid retraction or bid change, it shall be the right of the seller to honor or not honor the outcome of the auction. This descision will be made at the sole discretion of the seller and can be made at any time while the auction is live or after the auction closes regardless of any circumstance. Additionally, any member who changes or withdraws a bid may be permanently barred from bidding on future auctions.
The seller may, at its sole discretion and for any reason deemed appropriate, cancel any bid or restrict any member from bidding on current and future auctions.
