Vehicle Detail
Thanks for viewing. Please feel free to contact me with questions or additional information before bidding. While higher mileage than the norm, we purchased this vehicle used with 60k miles as a daily work commuter. Our location is approximately 50 miles outside of Las Vegas, so miles build quickly however most of those miles are non-stop highway miles. Still a reliable vehicle, we are only selling to raise some money for a long overdue vacation and make some room in the driveway. The Good: Body is in good condition. No accidents or big dents that I am aware of. Clutch and transmission shift fine. Engine still strong, nothing funky in the oil, plenty of power. She has been driven by (non-smoking) adults. No newbie drivers. My wife also drives like a nun most times, so the vehicles hasn't been abused. Tires - Almost new Goodyear Eagles, just put on. Cooling Fan- Cheap to buy, pain in the butt to install. Have to take half the car apart it seems. But it's got a brand new one. 4 Cylinder + Stick Shift = Decent mileage. Not Prius decent, but not 10 miles a gallon either. I will miss the storage capacity if she sells. I've carried a bale of hay (once) in the back, and you could almost lay a darn kayak down the center of it. Ridiculous on the cabin size if you haven't owned one before. Moneywise, we are not looking for a kings ransom on price. Just some vacation money. And we are not absentee sellers. Ask and you WILL be answered as quickly as we can. When we sell, we check Ebay religiously. The Bad: I see a leak developing in the gasket between the transmission housing and the engine. Tried to show it in the photo. I didn't "clean" it up. It is not to the point of leaving drips on the ground. It just has stained an area over the past couple years. Took it to a local shop, they quoted $500 or so to repair. This is the only serious thing I see at this point, but worth noting as a potential problem. The radio antenna. My wife loved the car. I bought it. They asked me if I had looked it all over. I said yes. I took it home. For some reason I lovingly tugged the antenna as I was walking away after parking. The antenna was in my hand. I realized it just pushes in. Now that's not to say it just simply blows out as your driving. You have to TUG it, but it doesn't screw in anymore. Did it matter to me? No. I use an Ipod. Does it matter to you? Maybe. A rattle. Sounds like the catalytic converter cover may be loose. Exhaust is good. It just rattles some when you are warming her up. If anyone really cares, Ill try and put up a video for you. Check engine light pops on and off now and again. I don't know why. I hate check engine lights. Had it scanned, nothing. Wasn't on the last time when I ran it yesterday. The Ugly: The interior has some stains. No rips, no tears, nobody died inside, (at least after 60k miles), but after spilling a bottle of water on the seat, and having it stained, I did some reading. It seems that Chrysler didn't really protect the fabrics in this year. So I was left with dark water stains. I heard a good steam clean fixes a lot. We didn't do it. The headliner also has some spots from an overambitious Dr. Pepper bottle that erupted. Not bad. But in the interest of being truthful, it's there. The photos don't look all that swift. Again, I'll take a photo of anything you'd like to see that I'm missing. We live a block off the paved road, so by the time I park, she's dusty. Also she sat for 6 months until I got the time to put a new fan in so I wouldn't hurt her engine with a possible overheat. I wiped her down, and took some photos. This is a used car. She starts right up. Putts a bit, then smooths out. Shes broken in with 160k on the odometer. She is a reliable runner, but she's not a spring chicken. You will hear a some rattling. A proper tune up would be great. So In Closing: Please feel free to email me any questions you may have. I don't believe you will have a lot of surprises with this one. Everything seems solid. I would trust it for awhile, even with the leak starting. I think it would make a great commuter, or a nice second car, but I already have a second, (and a third), car. Can't do four. Sold As-Is. No warranties implied. I believe everything is solid. But used cars are used cars. We would much rather you get to know everything you want to know before you bid, than have you (or me) stuck with something you're unhappy with. I am happy to disclose what I know, This car is for sale locally, so we reserve the right to end the auction early if she sells. Pick Up or Delivery: If sold locally, I will be happy to drive her into Las Vegas for you with a bit of notice. If you want it shipped, I will help guide the driver here and get you set up. Payment: A payment of $300 via PayPal due within 24 hours after auction end, with the remainder being due within 7 days of auction end with Cash, Money Order, Or Cashiers Check. We are not willing to store the vehicle without a prior agreement about when you will have her picked up. Please don't bid unless you have the funds, or are really serious. It just wastes time for everyone. Thanks for reading!
