Vehicle Detail
1976 F250 4x4 crewcab in excellent shape. As many of you know, these crew cabs are very hard to find in this good of condition. They were built to be used and used they were. These vintage ford trucks were built durable and tough. The crew cabs with 4-wheel drive are built on the F350 chassis, evidenced by the Dana 60 front and rear axles. The Dana 60 front on this is truck the low pinion with disc brakes and Dana 60 with drums in the rear. From what I know, this beauty has been saved and preserved to as close to original as possible with a few noticeable exceptions. The 460 V8 engine was inserted to replace the 360 put in from the factory (there is approximately 83K miles on the motor) and an Automatic transmission with a heavy duty shift kit was professionally installed making for tight and smooth shifts. The truck has Power Steering, dual exhaust, dual tanks (one in cab and one on drivers side under the box). Both tanks work great and are controlled by a factory switch in the dash near the heater controls. The truck is very mechanically sound, this is my daily driver. I live out of town and I average around 14-16 MPG. In addition to a sprayed in bed liner, there is a professionally installed rhino liner type UV protectorate along base of truck, doors and floor jams to protect from rock chips and prevent rust from starting up. There are stainless steel step rails, mud flaps, diamond plated bed rails, a tow package with electric trailer brake controls and a newer radiator. Great tires with what looks like 90% tread left. I installed heavy duty flashers and LED tail and dome lights. It also comes with the black canopy if you want it (the canopy is not pristine and could use some attention to the lift gate and such but it keeps stuff dry). From what I know, the truck has approximately 117,xxx original miles. The body, running gear, body mounts all in excellent shape. All windows and door rubber was replaced by previous owner as well as the paint job which was done in 98' and still looks really good. The previous owner was a mechanic and transmission specialist who owned and operated a transmission business. He paid attention to detail when he restored this beauty. Also when the truck received its paint, the undercarriage received a protective coating as a rust preventative. All lights work and there are no electrical problems that I am aware of. All of the door panels and headliner are still intact and in immaculate condition. The four wheel drive works great and uses heavy duty manual warn hubs. There are only four items that may need to be address if you were to buy this truck. The first two are cosmetic and where there when I bought it. I never addressed them because they did not bother me that much: 1) The seat cover has a tear in it on the driver’s side where I get in and out 2) The dash cover and the original steering wheel has three thin cracks in it. The other two are easy fixes that happened this winter and I just haven’t gotten to them this winter: 1) the foot dimmer switch to the head lights does not go from bright to dim very well and could be replaced 2) the heater control lever that controls the temperature of air (cool to hot) has come loose. For me this is not a big problem right now because it is stuck on warm and it is very cold here so it works just fine. You still have the option to shut the air off or turn it up from low to high and control it from foot to defrost (those work just fine) Finally, I would like to tell you that in my opinion this truck is what I consider to be greater than 99% rust free. I have looked at dozens of trucks listed as "Rust Free", when in actuality they are anything but. There are only two very minor spots of rust and they can be seen in the pictures (drip rail and drivers side top front of cab/window seam). When I bought this truck there was 2 things it had to have 1) be as close to rust free as possible and 2) be in good dependable mechanical condition. After examining dozens of crew cabs including this one; along with knowing the paint job was performed in 1998 and there was almost no evidence of rust anywhere (no chance for a quick cover up) and the truck was owned be a mechanical instructor (and it drove great) I chose this truck and I could not have been happier with my decision. Unfortunately, I need to sell this for financial reasons (I currently own 3 ford crew cabs and two of them need to go). The pictures should pretty much answer most of your questions. (I have included some pictures of the truck that were taken prior to some of the cosmetic alterations for those that wished to see them). The bed and body of this truck are remarkable and anyone who knows ford trucks knows that this is a fantastic truck in excellent condition. I have described this truck to the best of my knowledge. I use it as a daily drive and hall around my 3 and 5 year old kids in it almost everywhere I go. This truck is safe, reliable and a real head turner. Should you win this bid, you will not be disappointed. If you are a bidder and you request, I will gladly send additional pictures and provide you with a video of the truck purring down the road. Thank you for your interest. On Jan-20-13 at 17:23:30 PST, seller added the following information: Here is a link to me driving it today. Dues to a number of quesitons, I wish to confirm that I have the Low Pinion Dana 60 with a divorced transfer case New Process 205. There is no AC in this truck.
