ONE OWNER, CALIORNIA CAR. 32 years old and shows " a lot of pride of ownership". All original with no modifications. All maintenance was done by the original selling dealer. We have service records which are reported on CarFax. Any other service questions could be gathered from this new car Toyota Dealer in Southern California (you have to prove that you are the current owner according to Privacy Laws). The engine is a 22R 4 cylinder that runs excellent. Our mechanic states that there is a small leak in the exhaust manifold but doesn't need any immediate repair. We are currently driving it and enjoying it the way it is. The Automatic Transmission shifts smoothly. Everything appears to be operable so far as we've noticed. Oil was fresh when we bought the car. Registration is current 'til October 2013. This Celica is "very driveable" in the "as is condition". There is nothing wrong with this car. No over heating; no oil leaks of any concern; no odors; all gauges operate according to manufacturers specifications. The new car Toyota Dealer can't keep this car on their lot for sale so they take it to the Dealers auction where we found it. We inspected the car the day before the sale. We had a car similar to this a couple of years ago and it was sold and shipped to a customer in Chicago. We can arrange shipping anywhere. The overall condition of this car is Good. Exterior only has one small dent about the size of a baseball. Could possibly be popped out by Dentmaster without requiring any paint. Interior is very good. No cracks in the dash. Upholstery is very good except for (3) small tears in the driver seat. Passenger seat and rear seats are Very Good. An upholstery shop can probably find some extra material (maybe from underneath a seat?) to repair a couple of panels on the driver seat to keep it in original condition. This is a "project car" that will need some love and money to make it "mint condition". In the interim, the car is completely operable and fun to drive. We believe this car could be driven cross country in the condition that it is in. Upon receiving payment in full, we will provide a clean title with no encumbrances; a new smog certificate which you'll need to transfer title in your state; and current registration. The winning bidder needs to make payment in full within 48 hours or we'll sell the car to the next highest bidder. If you are not a serious bidder, then do not bid on this item or your priveleges to buy on Ebay can be revoked. California law requires that we collect 8% sales tax in our state upon sale. States have agreements that don't allow for "double dipping" (meaning paying tax two times). Only show your sales contract at your local DMV office. We are not required to collect any registration fee's so you will deal with your local DMV to transfer plates, etc. Car is sold as is, no warranty offered on a 32 yr. old car. We will provide you an itemized sales contract that you can take to your local DMV. We will need some documents signed and returned by you. These will be sent to you by either FedX or Priority Mail. Signatures are required by you and by us for title transfer, etc. This 1981 Celica GT needs a good home. NADA (same as Kelly Blue Book) old car guide says the "average" condition, retail valuation is $2,425 and "above average" codition retail value is $3,675. No change of ownership is indicated. CarFax often times will differ a little bit. Most information comes from the same source. CarFax is showing that there was a change of ownership in 2003. It went unnoticed by us because all of the maintenance records continued at the same Toyota Dealer. We called Santa Monica Toyota today to see if they could give us some information. They can pull the vin and tell all the service maintenance but cannot identify the owner(s). So, we have a slight discrepancy in the History Reports as to whether there was one owner or two. If this makes a difference to you, then please stop bidding. We offered to send out CarFax reports today to anyone that requests it and this is how it came to our attention. Again, the maintenance service continued at this same Toyota Dealer. Reportedly there was a new owner in 2003. No accidents of any kind reported thru either reporting company's. You will notice on the odometer that this is a 5 digit odometer, so the "True Miles" is 146,500 and not 46,500. Just to be clear. If you see on a report that it says Odometer "rollover", it is because the odometer went from 99k miles back to zero.
