My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I sell mostly new car trades from larger dealers directly to the public. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic and I do not have an in-house service facility. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description. Since each vehicle is sold "as-is" and "as-traded", each description is unique and will have information specific to that vehicle that you should know before bidding. Also, please read my terms & conditions before bidding as there are details there regarding payment and pick up policies. If you are unclear about anything, please ask BEFORE bidding. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer. The Mountaineer is an upscale version of the rugged Ford Explorer. I would rate the exterior of this Mountaineer to be in BELOW AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. Overall, this is a good looking truck. The only thing pulling the exterior down is that the paint is oxidized on the hood which is common for older Fords. Otherwise, I don't have anything bad to say. It is finished in dark green over gray two tone. The paint shows well with exception of the hood. The glass and lenses appear to be intact. The main reason I jumped on this Mountaineer is because the rockers didn't look all rusted out at the back doors like most of these trucks do. The windows are tinted for privacy. The alloy wheels aren't perfect but show well. The tires look good and show deep tread all around. I would rate the interior of this Mountaineer to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. The door panels show well for an older vehicle. The carpets aren't perfect but are not worn excessively. The leather seats also show well for an older vehicle. The cargo area has a few stains in the carpets. The dash and headliner are clean. The drivers window and lock do not work...the rest are fine. The climate control system appears to be working properly. The stereo also works properly. There are rear heat and audio controls. There is a trailer brake controller for towing, too. Mechanically, this Mountaineer appears to be in good running and driving condition. It has the optional 5.0L V8 engine which starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. The suspension feels good. The steering feels neutral and responsive. The brakes stop this truck with no issues. Out on the road, she drives pretty well for an older truck. It goes strait down the road with no complaints. The engine makes good power and is far superior to the V6 in every way. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with no issues. I noticed the other day that the odometer is not working. It currently reads 155k miles and I have no clue how long it has been that way. I will have to sell it as "not actual miles". Also, it would appear that the previous owner has removed the front drive shaft...so this Mountaineer is currently NOT 4WD. I've driven this truck roughly 60 miles. I did not see or feel anything that would suggest a problem with the front axle or transfer case but I cannot guarantee that. If I had to guess, I would say that it was removed for either fuel economy (I see that alot in Jeeps) or for towing. I've tried to locate a drive shaft locally but nobody has one. They're normally only $75+- and should only take a few minutes to install. If you want to call around, it takes the U-Joint style, not the six bolt flange. I hate selling question marks and will do my best to acquire a drive shaft before the auction ends...but it will be sold as 2WD in case I cannot locate the correct part. Messages left on the office voicemail may take several days to get to the right person or get lost. Winning bidders: Winning bidders are required to contact us within 48 hours of auction close and make arrangements for payment and vehicle pick-up. If contact has not been established and arrangments are not made within 4 days of auction close, we reserve the right to open an unpaid item case with eBay and sell the vehicle to someone else. Vehicle Pick-up: Arrangements must be made in advance to pick up a vehicle. We do not have regular hours, we operate by-appointment. We are very flexible and accomodating with days and times to pick-up, but must have advance notice or there is a very real possibility you or your shipper may arrive and nobody will be at our facility. Accepted Payment Methods: Cash is the preferred method of payment. Other payment arrangements may be made, please contact us to make those arrangements. Payment is due within 7 days of the auction close. Vehicle will be immediately available for pick up if paid by cash in person. Payments made by wire transfer, check (cashiers or personal), or money order will be subject to verification of funds by my bank. The vehicle and title will be held until all funds have been cleared by my bank and made available for withdraw. Paypal is not accepted for payment. This includes Bill Me Later. All vehicles shall be removed within 14 days of auction's end. Any vehicle left longer than 14 days without specific arrangements and exception being made will be subject to a storage fee of $10/day. Bid Retractions/Changes: We take selling vehicles on eBay very seriously. In the event of any bid retraction or bid change, it shall be the right of the seller to honor or not honor the outcome of the auction. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I sell mostly new car trades from larger dealers directly to the public. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic and I do not have an in-house service facility. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description. Since each vehicle is sold "as-is" and "as-traded", each description is unique and will have information specific to that vehicle that you should know before bidding. Also, please read my terms & conditions before bidding as there are details there regarding payment and pick up policies. If you are unclear about anything, please ask BEFORE bidding. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.
Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer. The Mountaineer is an upscale version of the rugged Ford Explorer. I would rate the exterior of this Mountaineer to be in BELOW AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. Overall, this is a good looking truck. The only thing pulling the exterior down is that the paint is oxidized on the hood which is common for older Fords. Otherwise, I don't have anything bad to say. It is finished in dark green over gray two tone. The paint shows well with exception of the hood. The glass and lenses appear to be intact. The main reason I jumped on this Mountaineer is because the rockers didn't look all rusted out at the back doors like most of these trucks do. The windows are tinted for privacy. The alloy wheels aren't perfect but show well. The tires look good and show deep tread all around.
I would rate the interior of this Mountaineer to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. The door panels show well for an older vehicle. The carpets aren't perfect but are not worn excessively. The leather seats also show well for an older vehicle. The cargo area has a few stains in the carpets. The dash and headliner are clean. The drivers window and lock do not work...the rest are fine. The climate control system appears to be working properly. The stereo also works properly. There are rear heat and audio controls. There is a trailer brake controller for towing, too.
Mechanically, this Mountaineer appears to be in good running and driving condition. It has the optional 5.0L V8 engine which starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. The suspension feels good. The steering feels neutral and responsive. The brakes stop this truck with no issues. Out on the road, she drives pretty well for an older truck. It goes strait down the road with no complaints. The engine makes good power and is far superior to the V6 in every way. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with no issues. I noticed the other day that the odometer is not working. It currently reads 155k miles and I have no clue how long it has been that way. I will have to sell it as "not actual miles". Also, it would appear that the previous owner has removed the front drive shaft...so this Mountaineer is currently NOT 4WD. I've driven this truck roughly 60 miles. I did not see or feel anything that would suggest a problem with the front axle or transfer case but I cannot guarantee that. If I had to guess, I would say that it was removed for either fuel economy (I see that alot in Jeeps) or for towing. I've tried to locate a drive shaft locally but nobody has one. They're normally only $75+- and should only take a few minutes to install. If you want to call around, it takes the U-Joint style, not the six bolt flange. I hate selling question marks and will do my best to acquire a drive shaft before the auction ends...but it will be sold as 2WD in case I cannot locate the correct part. Winning bidders:
Winning bidders are required to contact us within 48 hours of auction close and make arrangements for payment and vehicle pick-up. If contact has not been established and arrangments are not made within 4 days of auction close, we reserve the right to open an unpaid item case with eBay and sell the vehicle to someone else.
Vehicle Pick-up:
Arrangements must be made in advance to pick up a vehicle. We do not have regular hours, we operate by-appointment. We are very flexible and accomodating with days and times to pick-up, but must have advance notice or there is a very real possibility you or your shipper may arrive and nobody will be at our facility.
Accepted Payment Methods:
Cash is the preferred method of payment. Other payment arrangements may be made, please contact us to make those arrangements.
Payment is due within 7 days of the auction close. Vehicle will be immediately available for pick up if paid by cash in person. Payments made by wire transfer, check (cashiers or personal), or money order will be subject to verification of funds by my bank. The vehicle and title will be held until all funds have been cleared by my bank and made available for withdraw.
Paypal is not accepted for payment. This includes Bill Me Later.
All vehicles shall be removed within 14 days of auction's end. Any vehicle left longer than 14 days without specific arrangements and exception being made will be subject to a storage fee of $10/day.
Bid Retractions/Changes:
We take selling vehicles on eBay very seriously. In the event of any bid retraction or bid change, it shall be the right of the seller to honor or not honor the outcome of the auction. This descision will be made at the sole discretion of the seller and can be made at any time while the auction is live or after the auction closes regardless of any circumstance. Additionally, any member who changes or withdraws a bid may be permanently barred from bidding on future auctions.
The seller may, at its sole discretion and for any reason deemed appropriate, cancel any bid or restrict any member from bidding on current and future auctions.
