Vehicle Detail

Hi there! up for sale today is our 1929 Woody! (stop snickering yet? LOL) Yes folks, a real genuine woody station wagon -- go get your surf boards and crank up the Beach Boys! Well, ok, so its a few generations earlier, but you know what I mean! :) She seats six with two seats in the middle and a bench third row. Both 2nd & third row seats are removeable. We are only the second family to own this awesome car, although it was handed down from the original owners through many generations! She's a part of our family, and three out of four of our boys have cut their teeth on her! (no, not literally, but the tailgate has seen lots of diaper changes! LOL) The old girl is in great shape! There was an older (about 12 years ago) restoration that included a new paint job (using the oem colors and authentic ford paint) and a full redo of all wood. Its important to say though that there was no reason to replace or repair anything since the car was in such awesome shape!! There are a few knicks, rock pits, and typical minor scratches on the body parts, and the wood is in great shape! Our plan was to sand down the wood and revarnish this summer coming as a family project... BUT those were OUR plans, and not even necessary as there is still no rust, rot or soft spots anywhere, even on the wood body! The roof was just done a few years back, and each slat is in pristine shape. This girl really shines up sweetly, especially with some wax and elbow grease! She served as a fun ride for our family of six for almost 9 years, and we love her dearly. Everything has been well cared for and she has always been kept in either our garage, barn or her enclosed car hauler. We have a California Customs, custom fit cover for her as well. Its safe to say that she has been fairly well pampered! We have made very few changes to the car over the past 10 years... mainly additions. I recovered the back seat with pleather that matches the other seats. We added seatbelts for safety from Juliano's. We replaced the normal bulbs with LED headlamp and tail lamp bulbs from Mac's so we could take the family out safely in the dark. We added a surfboard rearview mirror, also from Mac's, and replaced the ebrake cable with OEM parts. We replaced the dry rotted tires with new wide whites ( all five, the spare still has "hair" on it!) from Mac's and had the tires/tubes installed by a Model A specialist. Since we were carrying our precious cargo, it was important to us that she be safe on today's roads. We had the car gone over top to bottom and inside out by not one but two registered classic car mechanics, but truth be told she didnt need anything to speak of! After much kicking and screaming, I finally agreed to the 12 volt conversion, so we ammassed everything needed and have it all ready to go, but we haven't gotten to doing it yet... all of that stuff will go with the woody for the right price. I was still against the juice breaks, but to be honest, if you're not a purist, she really needs em to be a daily driver... sometimes those mechanical ones just arent enough! My husband and I are car enthusiasts and street rodders of over 20 years, but when we realized that the kids couldn't participate in the fun with my hubby's pristine Phaeton ( really when they actually wanted to climb in and out on their own and Daddy could'nt bear to have the running boards stepped on) we went in search of a family car. The woody was PERFECT! you can't kill her and just like she was built to do, she will take lots of activity without showing any wear!! A perfect family car! Now, I was a stickler, and she is honestly IMO in too good shape to cut apart... but truth be told, she would make a great street rod as well. Everything is there and in perfect shape. We just want to sell her to someone who will appreciate her value! There were only just over 4,000 of these babies manufactured, and this one is one of under 1,000 left known to be in working condition. She has been certified as a real classic car, and antique, a true model A Antique (through and by various clubs, chapters, etc) and she has even been NSRA safety 18 inspected, although her originality prevents her from being recognized as a street rod (at least until juice brakes are added). This grand lady is an award winner too! For as near to a running original barn find as you can get, she catches a lot of eyes!! She has won several awards in just the time we've had her in local and regional shows. She's been Crowd favorite and People's choice winner several times. She's won Best in Show for woodies, and best woody as well as Best family car in a Model A only show. So since we've had such fun times and lover her so much, why are we selling?? Trust me, it's not without a heavy heart, but illness has forced us into an unfortunate financial situation. She has been rather neglected inside of our busy lives over the last 6-8 months, and well... it's time. We have spent many a happy day in this old girl, and now its time to let someone else enjoy her. These days I'm a Mommy much more interested in making sure there's a roof over the family's heads. This old girl was recently appraised at $26k, but we are realitic and in need of the money, so we had her listed at $20k obo. My husband's work truck jut blew the motor, and without a truck, he doesn't work - so we are at auction!! We do have a reserve on this auction, because we can't just give her away, but we are very flexible ( maybe even a little bit desperate) and offers won't insult us. There i no warranty offered here, because although we can tell you how great she is, she is over 80 years old! :) We will not do any shady dealing, we are just an honest family looking for an honest deal. Cash offers and sales only associated with this auction, please. We can hang on to her for a bit if necessary - for storage - but we will need to "seal the deal" at auction' end. Please contact us at my1929woody@aol.com if you have any questions or for more pictures. Thanks for reading this diatribe, happy bidding!!
