Vehicle Detail
I acquired this truck just a few months ago from a very nice gentleman who did most of the work and I have a folder with many pages of documentation that will be available to a buyer. My personal situation has changed very recently which has precipitated the sale of this beautiful vehicle. We are moving into a retirement type neighborhood which has covenants and little space for wheeled toys. I am old and it is time. First of all, this is a reliable and fun driver and not a show truck although it may win in a number of shows. As you can see, it is a 4X4 step side short box powered by a 350 V8 with an Edelbrock 600CFM carb and headers, coupled with a 700R4 automatic 4 speed transmission with a Lokar shifter on the floor..It has power steering, power brakes and Vintage air conditioning that works great. The radio is aftermarket and has a remote. The paint looks spectacular at ten feet. It is far from perfect but looks really good for a driver. This truck drives very straight down the road and it sounds good but not loud. I would drive it anywhere, and surprisingly, the fuel mileage is reasonable (15-16) thanks to the four speed auto transmission. Everything on this truck works as it should (technically, there is one thing to be done and that is changing the speedometer gear in the transfer case. The speedometer is off by roughly 9 mph @ 60.Since I purchased it, the following things were done (as I said earlier, the previous owner did the hard stuff):Replaced the lower outside door panels and re-painted same (there was very minor rust on the bottom seams); leveled the truck by removing one leaf in front and two in the rear(it sits at standard ride height and rides so much better); Purchased four new-refurbished OEM 8 inch wheels; added new Falken 32 inch tires; added inside grab handles (from a '71 Camaro); new steering wheel leather and had the wood bed sealed (but not re-finished). The fuel tank is 22 gallons and is located under the bed with a chrome access door near the tailgate in the floor. I am not sure of the actual miles (nor was the previous owner). The odometer shows about 74,000 miles and the title shows about 104,000. My guess is that the odometer matches the motor but I cannot be sure. It runs strong, has great compression and does not smoke. This truck is one of the survivors that is set up really well for driving. For the record, there are plenty of noises and vibrations just as any 40 year old truck should have (this is part of the appeal). Please, I urge you to come look and drive it. It is for sale locally and the right buy-it-now will stop the auction.Shipping is your responsibility but I am more than willing to cooperate with a shipper. Cash or wire transfer only.
