Vehicle Detail
I have owned this car since the late sixties. The original colors make a striking combination that is both elegant and period correct. I am the second owner. Save for the self-evident damage, this is truly an unmolested survivor. All equipment is original and when this car was stored, everything worked perfectly. This car was always kept in show condition. The body is rust free except for some minor paint bubbling. The floors and rocker panels are original and fully intact. The car even has the original Dark Blue Mouton carpet for the rear passengers and the original radio. An outstanding element of this car is the condition of the wood. It was professionally refinished and remains in excellent condition. The vanish is completely intact and only the top panel of the top dash piece is slightly faded. The top of the door wood is excellent. The door panels are original and in excellent condition. The engine, transmission, carbs, brakes with booster were rebuilt. The engine pulls 175 lbs.compression across all cylinders. The transmission works correctly and the speed hold is fully operative. All the glass is intact and in excellent condition. All doors open/shut correctly and all of the damage is to body panels only. All instruments are fully operational. However, as one can see, this car was on the business end of a roof collapse. It was stored in a hundred year old barn that didn't survive the Snowmageddon storm on the east coast a couple of years ago. When stored, everything single component was perfectly operational. The last two years unfortunately it has been outside and it's time for a new owner, one that perhaps can bring her back to her old glory or use it has a parts cache of rare Jaguar parts 90% which have been rebuilt. The rebuild on the engine alone included new chains/ tensioner, new oil pump, new water pump, new pistons and all new valves and springs. No expense was spared on any element of the engine/ trans rebuild or the general maintenance of the car over the last forty years. While I have tried to be as accurate as possible, please note this is a 50 year old Jaguar that has been outside the last two years. This car is sold AS IS/WHERE IS and subject to NO guaranties. Transportation, insurance and removal are the responsibility of the purchaser. A $500.00 non-refundable Deposit is due within 24 hrs., the balance by wire or verified Cashier's/Certified check within 5 days. Viewing before the end of the sale is welcome. I will be happy to answer any questions. On Jan-12-13 at 13:53:25 PST, seller added the following information: To all who have asked for photos of the engine compartment, please see the additional photos. You will see the engine bay is complete and original. I have also enclosed a pic of the dip stick showing the oil in the crankcase. The one in the shadow is better. It's difficult to see because it is so clean.
