1950 Ford Business Coupe with Cobra Engine and Transmission (5 spd) For sale is a very restorable 1950 Ford Business Coupe project. I have scoured the country for parts to complete the project, however, my job relocation and loss of garage space has changed my plans. The car is presently being trial fit for a Cobra Mustang drive train with Mustang seats, dash and floor board. Sheet metal is available to install original style floor. Save a ton of time and hassle by considering this project car with additional parts to complete the project at a fair price (over 15K invested). The car has a solid frame with body rust in the usual places (i.e., lower fenders, rockers, lower door posts, lower front quarter panels, and floor boards). New sheet metal panels come with the car as show in the pictures. A running 1997 Cobra Mustang convertible donor car was stripped to support project (4.6 DOHC engine with 111K miles, 5 speed transmission and shifter, wiring harness with computer, cat piping, seats, extra dash and console, seat belts, Cobra air bags, extra black steering wheel, accessories under hood, 460 sound system and misc. odds and ends). A Jim Weimer “Mustang II” front end kit is installed (cross member and coil springs, tubular A-Arms, stock spindles, power steering rack, 11 inch brakes (Ford bolt pattern), shocks, and box frame components). Over $1500 in Dennis Carpenter parts (door handles, trunk handle, trunk hinges, body to frame kit, headlight doors, park and tail light assemblies, scuff plates, hood and trunk emblem with retainer, rubber (for windshield, back, quarter, and vent windows), door SST glass run and anti-rattlers, seals (for door, trunk, and hood), and misc.) come with the car. The stainless steel trim (side moldings, hood, front and back window) is in great shape with additional SST trim for the upper rear deck seam. Re-plated chrome includes RH and LH grille bar, center “8” grille ornament and ring, RH and LH park light housings, front and back bumper guards, and hood ornament. The car comes with original dash and mid-west passenger side door, hood and trunk lid. Many extra Mustang and 50’s parts will also be included. The car will need a gas tank, radiator, and replacement rear end (new rear springs and shackles are uninstalled).
