The Triumph TR2 was a two-door sports car produced from 1953 - 1955. The TR2 was the first in the TR series, whne introduced was warmly received by the public and the motoring press. As an open roadster with cutaway doors it was visual appealing, and complimented by a twin-carburetor Standard Vanguard engine that was capable of producing 90 horsepower and achieving a 105 mph top speed.
This 1955 Triumph TR2 is one of 8,628 originally built
and is certified with a copy of its Factory Record Supplied by the British Motor Industry Trust. The vehicle is equipped with its original 1991cc 4 cyl engine (#TS/6711-E) and equipped with 2 SU Carbs, coupled to a 4 speed transmission. The vehicle has undergone a complete frame off restoration, finished to very high standards repainted in a stunning red with beautiful black interior. The vehicle comes with all its weather equipment including Top, Boot Cover, Side windows, tonneau cover and includes tool kit and spare tire. The vehicle is in excellent running condition and is of show quality. We purchased the vehicle at a local car show from a gentleman who had owned the car for many years the restoration was done in early 2000 and the drivetrain was recently rebuilt in 2008. The chrome is in excellent condition and looks better then new. The interior is spectacular, the gauges are restored to new condition and all lights and turn
signals work properly.
