Vehicle Detail
Here is a great early 911 project car with the correct start, an original nearly rust free body from the Nevada high desert. As we all know, the early 911's have hit the stratosphere in ever appreciating prices. I bought this car years ago from a fellow Porschephile, who is now living in Japan. I planned on this being a retirement project, but with a daughter in school, and a 1965 911 and a 914-6 project waiting in the wings, I have decided that I need to thin my herd a little. You will notice that the front of the car has some damage, but is actually quite easily fixable for a bodyman. The story I got from the person I bought it from, is that the car was getting ready for paint, and had to be moved a short distance on a local road. Dad was towing with the tow vehicle, and Mom was steering the car. Mom took her eyes off the road to adjust her silly shoe, veered off and hit a power pole at low speed. Son was pissed to say the least. Car was parked for several years and I offered to buy it. The good part is that I have the sheet metal to repair the damage. First is a complete front nose and bulkhead section with great condition battery boxes. Next is a repro front suspension pan, fuel tank support pan, an original hood, and an original fuel tank. Luckily the front right fender appears to be salvageable with very minor damage other than the folded inner fender which is fixable. I had planned to either butt weld the front nose section, or cut the spot welds and piece back the individual panels. Original VIN tag is in the parts box someplace. All of the sheet metal is incredibly straight and rust free, and that includes the floor pans, door striker panels, and rear suspension support points. All of this is the most important for a quality restoration. I have the original front windshield glass, front and rear bumpers, and a Saratoga aftermarket Plexiglass targa top. Sorry, no original OEM targa top. Front bumper has one area of rust through, on the right side corner, but is fixable with a weld patch. I believe I have all of the bright trim for windshield, etc. Lots of exterior and interior parts in boxes, including chrome bumper overiders, door handles, turn signal lamps and lenses. Original Fuchs, including the spare in the trunk, are 14" with Michelins. I have keys, and a clear Nevada title. Interior appears all original, including seats, carpet, armrests, ranging from poor to good shape, in other words, you are going to restore it anyhow, right? No original engine or transaxle with this car. I never got it with the car. I planned to put a 1973 2.4L MFI engine and 915 transaxle, which I have listed in another auction, into this car, for a real Porsche experience that only MFI can give you. Keep an eye out for my other auction on this engine and transaxle offering. I'm quite busy during the holidays working for FEDEX, so I will generally not be available until after Christmas. After Christmas, I will have a couple weeks vacation, so that would be a good time to pick up the vehicle, or have it shipped. Outside of my vacation weeks, I'm not available during the week, because of work, but can be on the weekends. Not sure how to ship the extra hood, bumper, front windshield along with the car with an auto shipper? Put inside the vehicle, if it fits? I can keep the vehicle at my place for a reasonable amount of time, as long as it is paid for, and we agree on a timely recovery of the vehicle. I have never shipped a vehicle international, but I can assist as much as possible. The nearest port is Oakland, or San Francisco, about 200 miles. Los Angeles, Long Beach, San Pedro are about 500 miles away. All shipping arrangements, expenses and costs are the responsibility of the purchaser. Winning bidder must PayPal a nonrefundable deposit of $500 within 24 hours of auction close, with the balance sent via FEDEX overnight within 4 working days of auction close, paid in certified funds such as official bank check, money order, or wired funds. I will need issuing bank's phone number as well. If you are not sure about something, please ask. Do not assume anything not listed is included. I reserve the right to cancel bids for zero feedback history or excessive negative feedback. I reserve the right to end the listing if the vehicle is no longer available for sale do to local sale. . Please ask questions before bidding. Sold as is, where is. Mark 775.721.four four nine five
