Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1951 CHEVROLET 5 WINDOW SHORT WHEEL BASE PICKUP TRUCK. This truck was a shop truck for a gas station in Dennison Texas and was stored inside the closed gas station from 1982 when the station closed until November 2011 when it was pulled out of the station when I bought the truck. You can still see a faint outline of the shops logo on side of the trucks door. From what I understand the gas station was opened in 1946 and was family operated until it's closing date in 1982, the truck was bought new for use at the station and was stored after the owners death. The truck spent its entire life in the North Texas climate and has never been out of North Texas until I brought it to Central Texas after I purchased it. My original plan for the truck was to have Austin Speed Shop build me a really cool resto-rod out of the truck so I could pull my 54' Corvette to car shows. The truck was delivered to Austin Speed Shop in January 2012 and I paid to get it in line for the restoration. The truck sat there for awhile and while it was there it was photographed by a couple of professional photographers and the images were used in magazines and advertisements for Austin Speed Shop, the images are included in the description pictures. There are also pictures of the truck sitting inside Austin Speed Shop waiting to be worked on. At the Lonestar Roundup Hot Rod Show in Austin Texas I was hanging out with the guys from Austin Speed Shop in their booth and the guys from Brookville Roadster Body walked up to Jesse James and told them that they had a 1932 Roadster body that they did not want to haul all the way back home and asked if he knew anyone that wanted to buy it at a big discount, Jesse asked me if I wanted it and the rest is history. With the new found Roadster body my plans to build the truck turned into plans to build a killer 32' Roadster so now I am putting my truck up for auction. The pictures of the truck show that the truck is pretty much complete and in decent shape. The truck has a fantastic patina and while planning to build the truck it was decided that the truck would not be painted and that the truck would be built using the existing patina. The truck has rust in the usual places but all easily repairable. The truck does not have a title but I was planning to get a bonded title for the truck. The buyer of this truck will have the opportunity to go through my extensive parts stash and purchase anything they want at a fair price. The four good tires on the truck will ease the trailer loading process and the truck is light enough that it can be pushed up on a car trailer with 2 or 3 guys. Also I have another 5 window truck, a 5 window cab and a 3 window truck up for grabs, I will make a great package deal for anyone interested. After the initial bid of $500.00 the auction will have NO RESERVE so the truck will be sold in this auction, Don't let this truck pass you by, it is SUPER COOL and you will regret not winning it. Please check out my feedback, bid with confidence and bid to win this SUPER COOL 1951 CHEVROLET 5 WINDOW PICKUP that is ALREADY FAMOUS and published even though it hasn't even been built...yet. Thank you for looking at my auction and as always Happy Motoring.
