I bought my GTI new, so I am the only owner. I kept it meticulously maintained by VW dealer. The car needs engine repair, but I am willing to accept a price that will allow for that. My GTI left me stranded on the side of the road not long ago, and I had it towed to VW. After spending $55 to diagnose the problem, they said it would cost $500 to get a precise diagnosis, and I didn't spend the money to have them do this. They said the problem could be the timing belt or a worn cam shaft. They said the worst scenario could include some bent valve stems. This has been a great car. The body is in great shape, with no rust. There is one small ding the size of a dime in the passenger side back door and a very small amount of white paint that got on the drivers seat. The interior is in good shape. The 6-CD player has a CD jammed in it. The CD player was working fine before this. The MP3 adapter in the glove box works well. Tires have some wear, but don't need to be replaced yet. Back tires are like new. If you get this car repaired, you'll love the way it drives. The buyer will need to make arrangements to have the car towed.
