Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1963 Impala. Currently in middle of restoration. Body was sandblasted and primed. Rear quarters were replaced. I have all trim, interior, and body panels. Previous owner (owned for over 25 years) started to reinforce frame but gave up. The frame still needs some work. Most of body panels are in great shape but car sat for a while so rust repair is needed in "normal" spots. We are having another baby so no time or money to continue. Its at a stage where you can start preping for paint and putting back together. Engine and trany still need to be rebuilt. The engine is not orig, the block codes indicate 1969. However the Powerglide is original. I have no title for the car. I did check with NCDMV and it can be titled by bond but will requre some paperwork. I'll assit buyer where possible. I've put a lot of work into this car already, so my loss is somebodys' else gain! Thanks. On Dec-14-12 at 15:13:44 PST, seller added the following information: Additional information based on questions I received: Existing Rust You can see an example of one area that needs fixing in the pitures (door). Both door bottoms need replaced. The trunk lid metal where the large chrome piece attches needs to be replaced (common area from what I see on web), the front fenders are solid but there is a 4x4 section of metal that was replaced. It needs to be ground down, filler, sanded, primed, etc. The hood is in good shape and don't believe anything is needed for that. Interior I don't have pictures on hand of interior. The interior is in my storage shed. The seats will need to be recovered as well as the door panels. The headliner was in bad shape so I just threw that out. The dash and guagues goes with the car as well as everything else related to interior. Trunk Area The trunk floor is solid and doesn't need to be replaced. One note here... On the underside of the car where the gas tank straps to the upper trunk cross brace... that cross brace is rusty and needs replacement. I tried to patch but feel it is best to replace. You can see in the new pictures where I tried to fix the top area. From inside of the car the repair will be covered up with carpet... Quarters I purchased new replacement patch panels for the quarters. After welding in panels I aplied All-Metal to the seam. I then applied filler, sanded, and primed. I'm not a professional but it looks pretty good. The drivers side needs more filter and sanding then primer. Frame As I mentioned the frame needs work but if you had a replacement frame that would be ideal. It would save you lots of work. I was going to reinformce the X frame similar to Red Sled on powerblock TV.
