Vehicle Detail

Here is a super cool , relatively rare 64 falcon squire. I bought this almost exactly two years ago up in Upland, Ca from the second owner. Story: Car was bought new from Foothills Ford up in San Dimas and lived nearly its whole life up there in a garage. It was her (older lady, possibly little) no kidding church and errand car . The neighbor bought it from her estate sale sometime around 2003. He did nothing to the car except put on a new set of tires and drove it about 500 miles. Car has been dry garage stored nearly its whole life, owner number two had it in a carport. I have garaged it since I have had it. fast forward to August 2010 when I got it. It had been sitting relatively unused for some time, so it needed some updating and upgrading. mostly starting with a pressure wash to get rid of years of spider webs. the typical addressing like cooling, brake, oil carb, clean gas tank, shocks and all the other fluid changes, wear parts, charging belts...you get the idea. I bought this car because it had NEVER been tampered with, monkeyed or showed any signs of a extreme abuse other than daily driver fender benders. It really was and is in that good of shape, other than sitting unused. Car has had one repaint, he guessed it was painted around 1976 from what he can remember (he lived next door). paint is weathered and aged now. 95% RUST FREE CAR. Falcons in 64 did not come with many options....the ones that were offered.........this car has most of them......squire package, roof rack , 260 V8, auto, power steering ( it does NOT have A/C or P/B). It is currently a daily driver and light errand runaround car, I have not driven this car far from my home, just a cool beachy car. since I have owned it I have put about 1000 miles on it (maybe). This is a really neat car, If you are a mustang enthusiast then this would be a super cool family car or future conversion to maybe a 5.0 and five speed? throw the dog and kids in back and head for the beach...I think your wife will dig it. This is a low production car, falcon squires such as this do not come around very often.......get it while you can. lots more details to discuss with you.....Give me a call and we can go from there. Free delivery on my trailer in San Diego county, after that we can work out a price. Heres some info: Body: repainted a long time ago, Right rear quarter has a dent in body and squire trim, front right has dent in body and trim. front left fender has a dent / crease (you can see it in the pictures). Roof drip rail.....prior to installing the roof rack I completely resealed the drip rail and adjoining structure, there is /was NO rust on the drip rails (very important with ford wagons), I primed and painted roof wimbledon white then installed the rack using another falcon as and exact template. Spare tire exterior well is dented in and has surface rust....oh ya...surface rust on nearly every panel except roof, car is a socal inland dry car, no exposed to salt or beachy weather...you can tell it has been stored nearly its whole life. The squire trim is all there except for the damaged corners, it needs restored and redone Interior is rough, back seat is nice, front seat needs a driver side recover, hole worn through to the cotton. carpet is original. I removed most of the padding under passenger and driver footwells. the original Tan color to me is quite ugly in its current state, freshened up and updated will give this car some new energy. NO Headliner, I removed it to put on the roof rack. dash pad original, but it is aging and sort of warping. Original radio (dont work, speaker shot) ,wipers work, head lites work, no brake lights or running right now (have not looked into it), dash is original and complete. All windows roll up and down, all doors open and close nice and latch. In a nutshell......this is interior is rough and needs attention (seats, carpet, headliner, door seals, ETC) Engine / trans : all original, never rebuilt or torn down...260...When I got it I removed nearly every accessory and cleaned, cleaned some more and primed and painted the engine, I took my time and was slow, about a two week project.....So....while that was curing I : rebuilt the two barrel carb, replaced the fuel pump, generator rebuilt, new radiator and hoses, new cap wires and installed pertronix ignition with new coil. Oh ya ...new water pump and thermostat, it has a radiator filter on the top hose. Installed some engine stickers from the falcon guys. detailed the engine bay with low gloss black, new battery and cables. oil and filter....you get the idea...this engine runs strong, runs very cool and does no smoke or leak....honestly this engine is a swiss watch......But it is hard to start, I think the carb is at fault for that. I dropped the gas tank and rinsed it out real well, new filler hose and fuel filters.Oh ya.....new exhaust all the way from the manifolds back, including crossover pipe (two into one), so exhaust is one less thing ou would have to worry about, standard quiet sound walker muffler . Trans: shifts but slips a little on hard acceleration, newer filter and fluid and thats it with that, it works. original from what I can tell. Tires: older BF goodrich T/A, still in great shape, about six years old and have plenty of usable tread and are not cracked up...decent tires with lots of meat left. The wagon is currently stored in my garage......most of the pictures are about eight months old....the ones with the roof rack installed are the current ones. brakes: oh these horrible brakes, drums all the way around and NON-power. I hate them, that is why I really have not driven this on the freeway much. I have rebuilt the brakes with new pads, new cylinders and drums turned, new master cylinder and good bleed. They work good I guess, car stops....A disc brake / power conversion would really be in order , I am not saying it is a deathtrap, you just HAVE to really be on your game when driving this car in traffic . it stops, I will leave it at that. no teen drivers here...eyes on the road in this classic. california titled and registered in my name, registration is due right now , about $60 bucks, I can take care of that. Title is here and no liens or funny stuff, not a salvage title. clean and clear. Drop me a line here and I will give you my phone number through E-bay.....If I left anything out the is hazy to you and you may need some more details I would be happy to discuss them with you. As with any vehicle auction I will be upfront with you and I expect the same. I am here to sell this car to make money and move on, money is the important part of this sale: A $1000 dollar deposit within the first 48 of the auction closing, the rest of payment on pickup or certified cashiers check. I would like the car to be picked up by you or a shipper in a reasonable amount of time, 14 days is normal for a vehicle hold, all monies and sale complete / exchanged prior to ANYONE picking up the car.
