For Sale: 1985 Toyota Celica with 199,986 original miles. Mechanically very, very solid vehicle. Cosmetically could use a little TLC (front seats have wear, numerous scuffs, paint chips, passenger lower rear quarter is rusted, etc). Underneath looks good, no frame rust, very solid. Many parts have been replaced within the last 2 years by the previous owner who had the car since 2005. I purchased the car a few months ago and have put around 250 miles on it. My only reason for selling is that I've decided I have too many vehicles, (I counted 8 vehicles and 2 mini trucks in the yard...) Driving this car is a hoot, it handles great and makes nice power for its weight. It has the reliable 22re fuel injected 2.4, 4 cylinder engine and 5 speed transmission. The engine was gone thru and freshened up around 25k miles ago. Engine bores lightly honed, new standard size rings, new main bearings, timing chain, guides, tensioner and guides, new oil pump with complete gasket kit. The head was reworked and the intake was cleaned. The clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing were replaced and the flywheel was resurfaced. The car is sitting on Celica Supra 14x7 wheels (which need to be cleaned) and brand new tires, there is even a full size Celica Supra spare wheel and tire included as well. All the lights work, including the pop up headlights, switches, windows etc. The heater works great and the AC has been converted to R134a (proper compressor flush and refilled with correct oil). New front rotors, pads, front end components such as tie rod ends, rear brake shoes and rear shocks. Fluids, belts, hoses, etc have all been changed. By no means is this a show car and its next owner can spend time making it beautiful. Most of the body trim (it is all included in sale) has been removed and in the trunk. However, it is a great running and driving 26 year old, rear wheel drive, classic car. The lightweight body, coupled with the torquey 22re and Celica wheels make this a blast to drive. The car comes with a service manual as well as receipts for some replacement parts.
