Vehicle Detail

This is a 1978 Trans Am that I bought to fix up...when I bought it, it had been sitting for years. In fact the California title I have is in the previous owners name dated 1996....it is off the DMV computer...so no hassles there. It is a California (Van Nuys plant) built and sold 403 powered, auto trans, tilt column, power windows. I believe this is a WS6 car...has the big 9/16ths rear sway bar and original, dated correctly for this car 3.23 geared posi. Has many new parts within the last 3 months...new spark plugs, new wires, new dist cap and rotor, original matching numbers carb rebuilt by a carb shop, Edelbrock performer (new valley pan), new alum radiator, new belts, new hoses, new AC Delco egr valve, new calipers/rotors/pads/bearings, new front rubber brake lines, fresh oil change with new oil filter, new polyurethane rear sway bar bushings, 2" lowering blocks, new gas shocks all around, new TRW lifters, new AC Delco master cylinder, currently sitting on roller wheels and tires and will not include the aluminum wheels shown. Also has new rearend cover gasket, we also serviced the rearend with new lube and correct posi additive, silver bullet rust stopper on floors and sound deadener has been installed...much more. So basically we got the car to run and drive but it still needs work. Engine runs well but needs more tuning..The paint job in the pictures is wet..that way you can see the body condition (which is good) and not the crappy paint job..the car needs paint badly. It was originally white with a black interior. I believe all the body panels are original to this car. The doors have been shaved..I would just replace them as the doors for these 2nd gen Firebirds are dime a dozen and the passengers side has a little rust in the lower corner. Dont have the flares or front spoiler. Only real rust is some bubbling in the paint down low on the quarter panel on the passengers side behind the tire from the drain plug getting clogged with dirt. Look at the pics of the corners of the dash..this is a notorious rust spot on these cars..theyre nice. Will need a windshield too. Trunk floor has surface rust but you can wire wheel it, splatter paint it and its done. Have some interior parts to go with it and some extra parts too. Dont have the front seats...they were junk and I trashed them..the guages are actually in good shape..the lenses are cloudy...the car has not been lowered in the front...thats why it sits up higher in the front... Overall a lot of work has been done to this car...its a good foundation to go forward...rust free and actually quite original...underneath the car looks really nice...also still running its original exhaust system..mechanically the trans leaks from the dipstick O ring and the brakes need to be bled after all the new stuff has been put on...starts by hot wiring it...the ignition switch is damaged...No scoop, or console....also one spoiler end cap is from an earlier model..but the one on the car is worth more than the correct one to replace it...PLEASE REMEMBER IT DOES NOT COME WITH GTA WHEELS.. The traction bars you can barely see in some pics will be removed since they arent correct for this car.. mileage listed is just to comply with Ebays sellers form... PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS! Car is for sale locally and auction might end at any time. International bidders need to contact me first to be cleared to bid. Car can be exported easily since there is a clean CA title...can transport the car to a Los Angeles based port for $100 TERMS: Full payment is to be in my hands within 4 days of auction end...period. If you are local and want to come see the car, please do so BEFORE you bid. Your bid means you will pay that amount based on the information above, and does not give you the right to come look at the car to decide if you want to buy it or not. This is a serious auction...manner of payment is strictly my choosing depends on whom you bank with etcOn Nov-29-12 at 16:53:16 PST, seller added the following information: Reserve has been lowered to $1010 thats way less than we have into the car. Good solid project for someone...
