Vehicle Detail
You're viewing a 1995 E 420. I am listing this for a friend. The car is in good condition, the engine runs great...quiet and smooth with ALOT of power. This has the larger 4.2 engine and is a bit harder to come by than some of the other E models in this year. The transmission does NOT shift into reverse, it tries and moves SLOWLY in reverse when cold. For this reason i am listing the vehicle as a project, not driveable. The car however does run and drive normally in forward gears. Transmissions run about 800 for this car, u can verify with a quick ebay search. The owner is moving out of country and doesnt have time to fix and didnt want to junk it. I have signed title (MD) in hand. The owner spent $3500 in repairs and maintenance in late 2011, i have receipts for this work that included new tires (kuhmo) that were installed at 129k miles. So tires have about 13-14k miles on them, still look new. The owner couldnt justify spending more $ for the transmission and bought a new vehicle....the reason this one is for sale. The interior is in great shape, aside from the driver seat which is torn as pictured. All windows worked when i cleaned the car up, the door locks worked..but seemed slow....could be weak battery as i had to jump it to get it started. Started fine and restarted later without trouble. Wipers and lights all work. The front spoiler is broken and missing as seen in pics, and there are a few dings as shown in pics. paint is a 6 out of 10. some fading on hood and roof. I just ordered a new expansion tank cap (seal was brittle and leaking) and stop light switch (warning light on dash) which will be installed before auction ends. New air filters also installed recently. Owner claimed a/c and heat worked, but i could not get blower fans to operate. My previous mercedes did same, and required a new controller... I've tried to note everything that is wrong with the car, i'd rather bidders were well informed....but it probably doesnt sell the vehicle well. It really is a nice car and would be a great car for the W124 enthusiast. The engine is the strong aspect of this car in my opinion, it really sounds great and feels powerful. The chassis and underneath is really clean, there is no rust that i could see. under the carpets is really clean and rust free also. Thanks for looking, contact me for any questions or picture requests. Have fun bidding on this great project! On Nov-25-12 at 06:57:22 PST, seller added the following information: Titled and inspected in MARYLAND.
