I sell fresh trades from larger dealers directly to the public "as-traded". I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am neither a mechanic nor do I run an auto service facility. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description, read my terms & conditions and review each of the photos closely BEFORE asking questions and BEFORE placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a very desirable, very well optioned 2001 BMW 740iL. As you probably know, the 7 series is the premier sedan of the BMW family. This example comes to us in long wheelbase form with the 282hp V8 engine. In addition to how this BMW is optioned, it is also the final year of the E38 chassis. Due to the lack of interest and support from die hard BMW enthusiasts for the American designed E65 which replaced the E38 in 2002, the later production years of the E38 hold strong value as they represent a more pure BMW without all the gimmicks. Late in the 1998 model year, BMW made some slight revisions to the exterior of the aging design of the E38 which included scallopped headlights, smaller marker lights, red and clear tail lights as well as body colored rocker panels which had a very subtle yet effective improvement to the look of these cars. I would rate the exterior condition of this 2001 BMW 740iL to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this is a gorgeous vehicle. It is finished in a slate gray metallic over gray leather. The finish does show a few flaws as you would expect from an older vehicle but looks good overall. The only visible damage I noticed was a small spot on the rear bumper about the size of a quarter. All of the body trim is intact and looks good. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact as well. The factory BBS alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in Michellins with average tread all around. I would rate the interior of this BMW to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see in the photos, the interior of this BMW shows very well. The door cards are clean. The carpets show well. A full set of floor mats are included. The headliner is clean and tight. The seating surfaces are leather throughout the cabin and show very well. Both front seats are completely power operated and all four seats are heated. The dash is clean and free of cracks or fading which suggests that this BMW lived its life in a garage. The wood trim shows well and is free of cracking or fading. The ash tray, console storage AND CUP HOLDER all still work perfectly. Carefull ownership shows throughout this BMW. The climate control system is fully automatic and offers independent setting for the driver and passenger. The audio system is the original equipment and is powered through the optional wide screen display. It features a CD changer in the trunk, cassette behind the tilting screen and GPS navigation. The sail glass shades do not retract anymore, which is common. The side shades are fully intact and work properly which is rare. The rear shade works properly. The trunk is spacious, clean and includes a full sized spare. Mechanically, this BMW appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.4L 282hp V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. The suspension on this sedan feels nice and tight. The steering is neutral and responsive as it should be. You'll probably need front brakes in the near future. The engine makes great power and runs properly. Out on the highway, she cruises nice and strait with no complaints. These cars are made for the highway and get remarkable fuel economy considering their size and weight. At 80mph the engine is only turning at 2,500 rpm. The ZF five speed automatic adaptive drive transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. This is probably my favorite automatic transmission available in pedestrian automobiles. Its shifts are docile enough for every day driving but crisp and fast when you need it to be. It down shifts almost intuitively. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I'm a Mercedes man...but I must give credit to BMW. The E38 7 series is one of the most capable, well made vehicles on the road. I would have to dig pretty deep to criticize this automobile...or any E38. It is a very well executed vehicle. It possesses a nearly perfect blend of size, performance, practicality and luxury...and doesn't take a trust fund to maintain. Thank you for considering this vehicle. Good luck bidding. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I sell fresh trades from larger dealers directly to the public "as-traded". I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am neither a mechanic nor do I run an auto service facility. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description, read my terms & conditions and review each of the photos closely BEFORE asking questions and BEFORE placing a bid. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a very desirable, very well optioned 2001 BMW 740iL. As you probably know, the 7 series is the premier sedan of the BMW family. This example comes to us in long wheelbase form with the 282hp V8 engine. In addition to how this BMW is optioned, it is also the final year of the E38 chassis. Due to the lack of interest and support from die hard BMW enthusiasts for the American designed E65 which replaced the E38 in 2002, the later production years of the E38 hold strong value as they represent a more pure BMW without all the gimmicks. Late in the 1998 model year, BMW made some slight revisions to the exterior of the aging design of the E38 which included scallopped headlights, smaller marker lights, red and clear tail lights as well as body colored rocker panels which had a very subtle yet effective improvement to the look of these cars.
I would rate the exterior condition of this 2001 BMW 740iL to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this is a gorgeous vehicle. It is finished in a slate gray metallic over gray leather. The finish does show a few flaws as you would expect from an older vehicle but looks good overall. The only visible damage I noticed was a small spot on the rear bumper about the size of a quarter. All of the body trim is intact and looks good. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact as well. The factory BBS alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in Michellins with average tread all around.
I would rate the interior of this BMW to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see in the photos, the interior of this BMW shows very well. The door cards are clean. The carpets show well. A full set of floor mats are included. The headliner is clean and tight. The seating surfaces are leather throughout the cabin and show very well. Both front seats are completely power operated and all four seats are heated. The dash is clean and free of cracks or fading which suggests that this BMW lived its life in a garage. The wood trim shows well and is free of cracking or fading. The ash tray, console storage AND CUP HOLDER all still work perfectly. Carefull ownership shows throughout this BMW. The climate control system is fully automatic and offers independent setting for the driver and passenger. The audio system is the original equipment and is powered through the optional wide screen display. It features a CD changer in the trunk, cassette behind the tilting screen and GPS navigation. The sail glass shades do not retract anymore, which is common. The side shades are fully intact and work properly which is rare. The rear shade works properly. The trunk is spacious, clean and includes a full sized spare.
Mechanically, this BMW appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.4L 282hp V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks and the engine does not smoke. The suspension on this sedan feels nice and tight. The steering is neutral and responsive as it should be. You'll probably need front brakes in the near future. The engine makes great power and runs properly. Out on the highway, she cruises nice and strait with no complaints. These cars are made for the highway and get remarkable fuel economy considering their size and weight. At 80mph the engine is only turning at 2,500 rpm. The ZF five speed automatic adaptive drive transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. This is probably my favorite automatic transmission available in pedestrian automobiles. Its shifts are docile enough for every day driving but crisp and fast when you need it to be. It down shifts almost intuitively. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I'm a Mercedes man...but I must give credit to BMW. The E38 7 series is one of the most capable, well made vehicles on the road. I would have to dig pretty deep to criticize this automobile...or any E38. It is a very well executed vehicle. It possesses a nearly perfect blend of size, performance, practicality and luxury...and doesn't take a trust fund to maintain. Thank you for considering this vehicle. Good luck bidding.

Winning bidders:
Winning bidders are required to contact us within 48 hours of auction close and make arrangements for payment and vehicle pick-up. If contact has not been established and arrangments are not made within 4 days of auction close, we reserve the right to open an unpaid item case with eBay and sell the vehicle to someone else.
Vehicle Pick-up:
Arrangements must be made in advance to pick up a vehicle. We do not have regular hours, we operate by-appointment. We are very flexible and accomodating with days and times to pick-up, but must have advance notice or there is a very real possibility you or your shipper may arrive and nobody will be at our facility.
Accepted Payment Methods:
Vehicle will be immediately available for pick up if paid by cash in person. Payments made by wire transfer, check (cashiers or personal), or money order will be subject to verification of funds by my bank. The vehicle and title will be held until all funds have been cleared by my bank and made available for withdraw.
Paypal is not accepted for payment. This includes Bill Me Later.
All vehicles shall be removed within 14 days of auction's end. Any vehicle left longer than 14 days without arrangements being made prior to the end of the auction will be subject to a storage fee of $10/day.
Bid Retractions/Changes:
We take selling vehicles on eBay very seriously. In the event of any bid retraction or bid change, it shall be the right of the seller to honor or not honor the outcome of the auction. This descision will be made at the sole discretion of the seller and can be made at any time while the auction is live or after the auction closes regardless of any circumstance. Additionally, any member who changes or withdraws a bid may be permanently barred from bidding on future auctions.
The seller may, at its sole discretion and for any reason deemed appropriate, cancel any bid or restrict any member from bidding on current and future auctions.
