I often have people ask me if I have any “reliable, low mileage cars for about $1000”. Normally I have to laugh and say that such a thing doesn’t exist anymore. Reliable, low mileage cars are worth more than a grand, and thousand dollar cars are rarely low mileage. However, this Escort is that rare reliable, low mileage, inexpensive car. This is the nicest 87 Escort that I have seen since the 90s. This thing is in excellent shape for being 20 years old. It was clearly a car that was owned for many years by someone that didn’t drive often and then given to a young person that treated it like their pride and joy. I'll admit that when I got this car I didn't have high expectations for it, but it has pleasantly surprised me at every turn. As you can see in the pictures, this car has different paint job than when it rolled off the Ford assembly line. It is currently painted metallic black with an eye catching silver stripe. This was clearly a professional job, not done in someone’s driveway with spray paint. There is a large paint blemish on the driver’s door. The doors all open and close easily and shut firmly. All of the lights and glass are in good shape and the headlights are even properly aimed. The 14” Proline Alloy wheels are wrapped in a matching set of quality Hankook all-season radial tires. The interior of the car is in good condition as I would expect from a low mile older car. The seats are comfortable and look quite nice. They do not have any holes, stains, or odors. The door panels and dash are firmly attached and look good. The power mirrors work properly. The crank windows go up and down easily. The heater warms the car well and works in all positions and fan speeds. The stereo has been upgraded with a high end Sony CD player and Sony premium speakers and sounds excellent. The intermittent wipers work well. Mechanically, the fuel injected 4 cylinder engine and automatic transmission are in good repair. This car was obviously someone’s pride and joy and they took good care of it. The engine fires right up and moves this car around well. The automatic transmission shifts without complaint. The steering is quick and neutral. The suspension is as good as it was new and handle quite well. Aside from squeaky rubber bushings in the rear, this suspension does not clunk, shake, or rattle at all. The steering wheel and alignment are dead on. The brakes stop the car fast and easy. This Ford was designed when the speed limit was only 55; so while it will do 80+mph, it isn’t happy about it. This is an excellent car around town and on country roads and can get upwards of 30 mpg in around town driving. The engine fires right up and moves this car around well. The automatic transmission shifts without complaint. The steering is quick and neutral. The suspension is as good as it was new and handle quite well. Aside from squeaky rubber bushings in the rear, this suspension does not clunk, shake, or rattle at all. The steering wheel and alignment are dead on. The brakes stop the car fast and easy. This Ford was designed when the speed limit was only 55; so while it will do 80+mph, it isn’t happy about it. This is an excellent car around town and on country roads and can get upwards of 30 mpg in around town driving.

Winning bidders:
Winning bidders are required to contact us within 48 hours of auction close and make arrangements for payment and vehicle pick-up. If contact has not been established and arrangments are not made within 4 days of auction close, we reserve the right to open an unpaid item case with eBay and sell the vehicle to someone else.
Vehicle Pick-up:
Arrangements must be made in advance to pick up a vehicle. We do not have regular hours, we operate by-appointment. We are very flexible and accomodating with days and times to pick-up, but must have advance notice or there is a very real possibility you or your shipper may arrive and nobody will be at our facility.
Accepted Payment Methods:
Vehicle will be immediately available for pick up if paid by cash in person. Payments made by wire transfer, check (cashiers or personal), or money order will be subject to verification of funds by my bank. The vehicle and title will be held until all funds have been cleared by my bank and made available for withdraw.
Paypal is not accepted for payment. This includes Bill Me Later.
All vehicles shall be removed within 14 days of auction's end. Any vehicle left longer than 14 days without arrangements being made prior to the end of the auction will be subject to a storage fee of $10/day.
Bid Retractions/Changes:
We take selling vehicles on eBay very seriously. In the event of any bid retraction or bid change, it shall be the right of the seller to honor or not honor the outcome of the auction. This descision will be made at the sole discretion of the seller and can be made at any time while the auction is live or after the auction closes regardless of any circumstance. Additionally, any member who changes or withdraws a bid may be permanently barred from bidding on future auctions.
The seller may, at its sole discretion and for any reason deemed appropriate, cancel any bid or restrict any member from bidding on current and future auctions.

Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 administrative fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, ect., and is not applied to any transfer costs incurred by the purchaser. The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
We are unable to complete any tag or title work, including temp tags, in-house, nor do we collect any sales tax or registration fees. There are Tag & Title locations nearby that can handle those tranactions. We will assist you in that process.
