WINTER IS AROUND THE CORNER! SAFEST CAR IN THE WORLD WITH AWD IS THE BESTEST! Super clean V70XC with LOW MILES! Short and sweet....running out of time before the Thanksgiving weekend! Yes....you can STILL pick it up during this holiday! I work for you! Exterior with the exception of a small area (see pics below) is superb! Very few rockchips and dings to be found anywhere on the car. Unfaded vinyl trim looks great all around. Front and rear bumper covers look great. No damages, cuts, cracks. I'm no bodyman, but I don't see any signs of major body repairs or repaints. Below you can see the matching Bridgestone tires look great with the fronts being very recent. All ride on clean vibration free rims. Unseen are the nice strong brakes and smooth suspension. Here is the small area I spoke of above. A light swipe. You can see the light scratch down the door at my finger tip. Off to the right the light scrapes and trim missing. Minor buffing should easily remove the scratches. Replace the little trim piece and the eyesore will be nearly hidden! Also, the driver's mirror housing is loose yet it stays in place while driving. Rear bumper cover has a few nicks, but they've been touched up with nicely matching paint and overall looks great! Absolutely zero rust to be found on this car. Hood and roof look excellent. Yep, really only one major ding to point out! Easily dentbusted if desired. AH-HA! The super clean, ungreased shine engine compartment!! Reeks of proper maitenance. Engine fires right up with the recent strong battery. Smooth and quiet. Turbo spools properly. Spark plugs are new Autolites. Fresh oil and Mahn filter change. Coolant is green and clean. No overheating. Trans fluid is clean and shifts perfectly. No signs of any major oil or coolant leaks. Timing belt, tensioner, and water pump were replaced in April 2010/80k miles!! Suspension is smooth and noise free. Drive's straight down the road with no unusual pulling or wandering. Volvo updated Yellow Tag throttle body for future reliability. Ok, Eric. So what's up with this awesome car?? Aren't you glad I type out your thoughts!?! Actually I've been driving the car to ensure it's reliability. I've actually driven over 200 worry free miles. Long distances. Short runs. But....like most AWD Volvos....it has the typical rear driveshaft flutters and noises. Ping, dings, flutter, low speed squeak. UHHHGG!! All this time, all Volvo had to do was install a simple little grease fitting to the center U-joint....but NOooooo!! Car drives beautifully, straight and around corners. If you turn sharply under throttle say, into a driveway, THAT's when you feel/hear it. Why is this? Essentially the 2 piece driveshaft is held together in the center with a $13 U-joint (with a floating rubber cushion around a center carrier bearing) and it's factory installed grease dries out, especially after 13 years and 100+k miles. When you turn, it binds up and turns a straight shaft into a boomerang! Seriously, It doesn't remain straight during the turns. Flutter. Thuds. Straighten the car out??? Perfectly smooth and quiet again. Volvo with tell you it's an expensive repair(because they want you to buy the entire shaft), so don't go there. Drive with it as-is, as I have. You can also remove the shaft easily for FWD only operation. Then send it to your local driveshaft shop for replacement of the U-joint. I hear it's about $200-400 for complete rebuild and rebalancing. Honestly, I'm so used to every AWD Volvo having this issue, that it's a TREAT when I get a car WITHOUT it! No....NOTHING else to disclose. The car really is a great specimen! Just remember my words here in your searches of the right AWD Volvo while shopping! It is very common and most used car stealerships won't even know....until you drive it. Interior gets an easy 9 out of 10! Awesome leather. No holes, cuts or tears. Driver's bolster is barely worn. ALL power items work as they should: cruise, mirrors, BOTH heated power seats, ICE COLD AC, sunroof, windows, locks, info panel. driving lights, etc! Carpet looks great along with the nice woodgrain trim. Even the steering wheel looks justlikenew2u! As you can see ALL the dummy lights illuminate upon startup with only the "SRS" light staying on during run. Sorry, I do not have the proper machine to diagnose this portion of the vehicle's computer. It's pretty typical on these 99-up 70 series vehicles to have a failed sensor. Full factory XC floormats are included. Unseen is the complete spare setup. Cupholders are still intact as well!! Only one key and base manual are included. Inspect my EXCELLENT feedbacks!!
