Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1984 Chevrolet Corvette with newer C4 mods with the odometer showing 91,209 miles on it however I have no way of knowing if this is actual mileage or not. I purchased the car approx 8 years ago from an individual who stated they were unsure of the exact mileage as the speedometer gauge cluster had been replaced previously. This car has been updated with several modifications including a Tuned Port Injected 350 engine from a 1987 Corvette with 75,000 miles on it. The tuned port injection modification is far superior from the problematic cross-fire injection which came with this year vehicle originally. This vehicle also has updated front and rear (OEM) bumpers and side front fenders and leather seats from a 1993 Corvette. The passengers seat is in excellent conditon with no rips or tears, however the drivers side has a small tear on the bottom seat pad only. The side bolsters of the drivers side seat are not worn or torn at all just the issue with the bottom seat pad itself. This is a very strong running and handling car and has a very solid drivetrain. From a suspension standpoint all tie rods, ball joints, springs, u-joints, shocks and control arms are in great shape. One thing that does require attention is the fact that the sway bar bushings do make a slight squeak when you run over a speed bump or good sized dip in the road. I had this recently looked at by a local mechanic and would be a relatively inexpensive and/or easy repair to make. This is not a safety issue just annoying at times. Again it doesn't do it all the time, just when you hit something just right. I am told this is a common problem with these cars as the factory installed a rubbber bushing which wears out over time and the fix is to put an new/ updated poly style bushing in their place. The tires have less than 2,000 miles on them and comes complete with ZR1 style aluminum wheels in excellent shape (no curb rash or bends of any kind). The tires and wheels alone are worth approx $2,000.00 if purchased separately. Mechanically this is an extremely dependable car, doesn't burn or use any oil at all. The oil has been changed every 3,000 miles religiously. The only thing I have noticed is that when you first start the car (after it sits overnight) you get a small puff of smoke which is a sign of worn valve guide seals, again nothing serious and can be easily fixed. Cosmetically the car does have some opportunities: The hood has several small cracks in the fiberglass and a couple on each of the rear quarter panels (which is typical for these earlier C4 Vettes. The clear coat is in excellent condition with no cracking fading, peeling or sun spots of any kind. The car would make a great daily driver (and for the perfectionist) a small project if they wanted to fix the minor cosmetic issues and other small details mentioned previously. The only reason I am selling the car is I have upgraded to the C5 body style earlier this year and don't need two. The car has not been driven much at all (only on a few short trips) since I purchased my other Vette back in February. Again the car is not perfect but would make someone a happy owner for those of us who appreciate Corvettes! Car has a clear (never salvaged) North Carolina title. Winning bidder will be responsible for local pick up pick up of the car. Also the winning bidder will required to send a $300.00 (non-refundable) deposit via Paypal within 48 hours of auctions end. Vehicle pick up will need to be done during regular business hours Monday thru Friday so title can be transferred on sight. Please feel free to ask any questions... Thanks and happy bidding!
