1974 Mercedes 450SL - Obtained from original owner, who purchased the car new in Pompano Beach, FL. Car sat idle for approximately 6 years -showing 92,000 miles (not certain to be accurate because odometer stopped working after car was parked) At this time: Mechanics = GOOD/FAIR: new injector seals, new battery, new fuel pump/filter, new vacuum lines, new belts, new plugs & plug wires. Starts easily, no smoke, seems to have a misfire at idle - perhaps a clogged injector. Transmission shifter handle loose, but transmission shifts well. No overheating. Brakes working well, tracks straight Electrical= EXCELLENT/GOOD: everything works as it should; driver's window sticks, power antenna sticks, all gauges work Interior = GOOD/FAIR: no tears/splits in seats, carpeting good, panels good, dash cracked, aftermarket AM/FM cassette stereo Body/Paint = FAIR/POOR: mostly original paint, many areas of spray/touch up, rust in trunk/spare well, dent in RR quarter panel, surface rust, please refer to photos for details Soft top = POOR: frame solid with good seals, windows in Ok shape, fabric is old with patches, no hardtop A/C = GOOD: converted to 134a I purchased this SL from her 85 y/o original owner with the intent to refinish, but now must sell due to my own health issues. I have driven it approx 100 miles in total on the expressway and in town with no issues, other than the misfire.
