Vehicle Detail
Snow is right around the corner. Are you putting your family in that FWD Corsica beater with no heat, again?? Your 12mpg Taurus starting to sound like a diesel?? Time for an upgrade. Awesome high miler! I swear I have more headaches with the lower mile cars. There's a REASON why a car makes it up there....proper maintenance and servicing. This car REEKS of it! Beautiful black shine front to back. No, it's not perfect. Easy 8 out of 10. Mostly typical rock chips on the front nose and hood, as to be expected for it's age and what appears to be the original paint. I'm no bodyman but I can't find any signs of major or even minor body repairs or repaints. Minor dings and scratches to be found but you will ALWAYS enjoy your trips to the carwash! You KNOW black shows everything...except in a picture. But when it's clean??? Gorgeous. Front nose looks great aside the chips. No major damages, cracks, holes or repairs. Below the matching Firestone tires at every corner has at least 60% tread life left and unlike most Firestones, these are pretty quiet tires even at speeds of 70mph! They ride on clean vibration free AWD ONLY rims. Unseen are the very strong front and rear brakes and rotors that look recently replaced. The ONLY thing missing on the exterior of this car is the rear Volvo issued sport wing! But guess what?? I have one. Already painted black removed from MY personal T5 wagon from years ago. For an extra $200, you can have it...installed too! The wing alone costs that, plus getting it painted, and installing it... Pretty much the biggest eyesore on this vehicle is the rear bumper cover and hatch corner. The cover has seen WAY better days. Scuffs and chips, but easily repainted if desired. Hard to notice until I point it out, but the right lower portion of the hatch, right behind the V70/AWD badge is a baseball sized dent. Roof with optional roofrack looks great! The interior, considering it's age, is very clean as well. An easy 8.5 out of 10 deductions only for typical leather cracking and carpet wear. At this photo shoot, the heater core was weeping, which is VERY common on the 850/70 series cars. The factory core had a defect in it's design. The "glued" seams would slowly weep causing the anti-freeze odor and windshield steam if unfixed. But guess what?? It's a 20 minute repair! Volvo's are SOOooo easy to work on. No lie. I'm installing the new version for permanent repair! Also a common issue on the cars is the ABS module. Every hopped into one with the ABS/TRAC light on or randomly on and off? Bosch managed to mess those up from the factory as well (point here is it's NOT a Volvo thing). The solder on the power connection wasn't heated properly. I've been opening them up and fixing them for years now with excellent results, like the save $400 for a new one, result. This car no different. Just another issue fixed to make it justlikenew2u! Above you can see ALL the dummy lights illuminate upon startup with none staying on during run. As stated, I've fixed the ABS unit for worry free operation. Awesome factory woodgrain accents make the interior stand out from the rest. ALL the power options seem to work as they should: power roof, locks, windows, cruise, twin power front seats(heated portion unknown), dual climate control, ICE COLD AIR CONDITIONING, Hot Heat, transmission modes, info panel AM/FM/CD player, etc! Driver's bolster is barely worn along with the steering wheel. Ahhhh...the covetted 3rd row seating! True 7 passenger seating before it's time. Well...as long as you don't count the ol station wagon land barges Grandma and Grandpa used to own! Complete factory issued floormats. Unseen is the complete intact spare tire setup aired up ready for your drive home. Yes, that's a functioning center dual cupholder still together and working! Below all the factory manuals, one key and one working keyfob are included. My favorite part of my ads, the engine compartment. This is why you buy Volvo. Reliability and safety. Plus they make a pretty cool looking wagon that keeps you from driving the dreaded minivan! I've logged over 200 miles in this car to ensure it's reliability. Recent strong Interstate starts up the perfectly running engine. Strong properly working turbo. Transmission shifts as it should. Brand new upper Poly motor mount makes this engine feel smooth, considering the AWD models are far from it. Amazingly, the RWD driveshaft offers minimal, if any, turning flutter. This is a VERY common issue on the XC/AWD versions, but this car doesn't suffer from it! Volvo Air filter is clean but will need replacement soon and I cleaned the air meter as well with the proper spray. Oil, coolant and trans fluids are spotless. Spark plugs are fresh. I see a little sweating of oil at the turbo oil return line. This is a typical o-ring (heat) failure on these cars, FWD or AWD. It is an easy repair and I will provide the proper Volvo replacement O-ring. Time permitting, I will also replace it. Otherwise no major oil or coolant leaks to be seen. The timing belt was serviced at proper intervals. Sorry, I can't tell for sure when, but my estimation shows the belt to have about 30k left in it's life. The belt should be changed at MOST every 100k. So this one will be due again at 200k. Car fires right up. Runs great and drives straight down the road with no unusual wandering or pulling. Suspension is rattle/noise free and tight. Like all my cars, this car is turn key and go! BID, BUY, and DRIVE ANYWHERE with 100% CONFIDENCE! Inspect my excellent feedbacks. No worries. NO RESERVE!! I apologize in advance if I sound like I'm scolding....but this NEEDS to be said. This vehicle is AS-IS/AS-SHOWN. The vehicle is in Illinois being sold by a dealer. WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE for your individual state's INSPECTION or EMISSIONS compliance. I am simply trying to offer you and possibly your family a quality reliable vehicle. Like most Americans, I still can't afford a new car. I regularly sell $3000-$6000 vehicles. Mostly what I would personally drive or own. I don't know if you are buying in my state or in Virginia or California...so I HAVE to make our cars ready for the road trip. I don't know who will be driving the car. So I MUST make it ready for your teen or your job in the morning. I can only promise I do the BEST that I can with what I have and what I sell. My EXCELLENT FEEDBACKS prove it. I'm not here to rip people off. I'm also here to help so feel free to contact me after purchase for anything. Even if you have any questions about a future purchase. Also, understand that I spend many countless hours (inspecting, repairing, cleaning, taking pics and writing specific personal ads) for everything I sell...not to mention the $125 sell fee that is charged to me at the end. Please don't jack around if you don't plan to go thru with the purchase. Thanks for your understanding. Now you're at the bottom. Hopefully I've covered the main specifics of the vehicle and eased your mind. I understand that you are putting yourself or your loved ones in this vehicle. I personally have put my own mother in an 01 C70 with 175k miles(which I just roadtripped 1500miles) and I personally drove a 98 S70 with 220k miles(which I just sold-see POSITIVE feedback)! Many of my personal friends drive cars that I have sold them. I treat you no different. If I haven't covered any of your questions or concerns, please feel free to email or call me at 815.744.7223. My name is Eric. Also understand that I have the right to end the auction early due to local sale. I STILL REQUIRE a $500 deposit to be made within 24hours. Use Paypal for the deposit please.
