Vehicle Detail
The time has come to sell my beloved “Cruiser.” I have owned this 1989 FJ62 for the last 8 years. For its age, it has very low miles, 183,900, and runs great. I used it for my daily commute and it was extremely reliable. It looks great, with the expected amount of dings, chips, and small dents (back bumper, roof, and hood) for a 23 year old vehicle. The original paint is still really nice, with NO RUST as is so common with older Land Cruisers. It has been parked in a garage on weekdays since I’ve owned it. Tires are in good shape and have a lot of tread, as you can see in the pictures. Some suspension work is needed. The bushings are completely worn out and need to be replaced, so it clanks while going over bumps. Front tie rod also needs to be replaced. These are the only mechanical issues I am aware of. I have regularly had oil changes, tire rotations, and maintenance checks performed since I have owned it. The frame for the driver’s seat is insecure, resulting in the back of the seat having some give. I think this could be welded to secure it pretty easily. There is one tear in the side of the driver’s seat (see photo), otherwise the interior is in nice shape. Power windows all function, but back windows are pretty slow and do not go down all the way. The antenna is broken, but is taped together and works. Last winter, the heater did not blow as warm as usual, so I had the thermostat and heater core replaced. Seems to be better, but we’ve had no cold weather to truly test it. The air conditioner blows cold, but I have had Freon added one time for each of the last few summers. I have tried to describe all of the flaws I know about so you will be happy with your purchase. It is really a great truck and I have thoroughly enjoyed driving it. Due to kid’s activities, we are driving further distances more routinely and it is not best suited for this type of use. Buyer responsible for vehicle pick-up or shipping. I live in Dallas, TX and will be available to allow test drives most of the Nov. 17 & 18 weekend. Please contact me with any questions you have and I will promptly reply.
