History I bought this beautiful one owner 2012 Toyota Sienna from an Lease company in Orlando, Florida. The car was sold to me as clean title. It was struck by a minor lightning and affected 2 computers in the car. The body of the car was not damaged. These computer were replaced by certified mechanic. The car is in an excellent condition. It looks and drives like a brand new vehicle. When I transfered the title in Ohio, the title came up as salvage rebuilt. I still cannot understand the reason as there was nothing wrong with the car except for those 2 computers. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE BODY OF THE CAR, ENGINE, OR TRANSMISSION. Although the car had all the original parts I still had to take it to get inspected by Ohio salvage patrol. This car passed Ohio salvage highway patrol inspection. WHAT DOES REBUILT OR SALVAGE TITLE MEAN Many people are not familiar with the Salvage or Rebuilt title, below is a brief explanation of the "Salvage verses Rebuilt Title" terminology: Salvage title means that the insurance company decided not to fix the car and paid off the owner. By declaring a car "Total Loss”, Insurance Company is taking themselves out of any liability issues in the future. Does that means the car is totaled, not always. Sometimes the car has minor damage but the parts are very expensive. Sometimes the owner does not want to get the vehicle repaired and depending on the Insurance Company and the year of the car, Insurance will pay off the owner.
