I personally road test each unit before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how each one runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am neither a mechanic nor do I operate a full service automotive facility. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description, read my terms & conditions and review each of the photos carefully BEFORE asking questions and BEFORE placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for auction is a 2000 Land Rover Discovery Series 2. Sometimes in my business, you get stuck with a bomb...like this one. When I first looked at it, she was purring like a kitten. When I went to drive it home, it became a different story...but I'll get to that later. As for the exterior, this isn't a bad looking Rover. The burgundy finish shines well and looks good against the tan interior. There are a few scratches here and there as you would expect to find on any older vehicle. Additionally, there is some minor damage to the left corner of the front bumper cover. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. The alloy wheels are in good shape. The tires are on the thin side of average. Overall, this is a good looking Land Rover. There is NO RUST on the body of this Disco. The interior of this Land Rover is also in good condition. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets are virtually spotless. The seats are also in near perfect condition throughout. The headliner sags a little but is in far better condition than most of the Rovers I see. This Discovery is equipped with power seats, heated seats, dual sunroofs and Harmon/Kardon sound. The power windows, locks, seats, sunroofs and mirrors appear to be working properly. The climate control is fully automatic and works properly. The stereo sounds fantastic, too. It has a weatertech cargo area protector. Mechanically, this Rover will need some work. Like I said, she was purring like a kitten when I first laid eyes on her. About 5 miles into my trip home, it shut off at a red light. When I started it again, I noticed that there was a knock in the engine. I immediately pulled it into a gas station and shut it off. It stayed there for another few days until I had time to go back up for it. When we cold started it a week later, she fired up and purred like a kitten again. I decided to drive it back to the parking lot at the auction it came from until I could go back with a trailer for it. By the time I got it back to auction, it was rattling and knocking again. In the time I did get to drive this vehicle, I can tell you that the engine does make good power. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. The steering feels nice and tight. The suspension feels nice and tight. The brakes work fine. There were no warning lights on. I'm going to assume this Rover will need the engine replaced and it will be sold that way. I don't know too much about these vehicles so maybe the issue is not as extreme as I think it is. I'd rather sell it as having a bad engine and have it not be that bad versus the other way. Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 administrative fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, ect., and is not applied to any transfer costs incurred by the purchaser. The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
We are unable to complete any tag or title work, including temp tags, in-house, nor do we collect any sales tax or registration fees. There are Tag & Title locations nearby that can handle those tranactions. We will assist you in that process.
