I personally road test each unit before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how the vehicle runs and drives. Please keep in mind, as you read this description, that I am neither a mechanic nor do I operate a full service automotive facility. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description, read our terms & conditions and review each of the photos closely BEFORE asking questions and BEFORE placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is one of the most indesctrucible vehicles ever made. Anyone who knows me can tell you that I'd personally rather drive a Mercedes-Benz over just about anything on the road. I've owned at least one of just about every Mercedes made from the 70's on. For your consideration today is a 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300SDL finished in tan over tan and brown. The W126 is, in my opinion, the pinnacle of Mercedes-Benz. This car represents the beginning of the end of an era where a Mercedes-Benz was built to a standard, not built around a target price...and this shows throughout these vehicles. All you have to do is sit in the drivers seat and close the door to see this. These vehicles were built to last. With proper care, these automobiles will literally last a lifetime. I would rate the exterior of this 300SDL to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mieage of this vehicle. The tan exterior shows well but you will find some flaws up close. As usual, there is some clear coat flaking on the roof and trunk lid. Additionally, there is a small dent at the corner of the right fender above the parking light. Otherwise, she still looks pretty good. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. The alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in deep rubber all around. What attracted me most to this Mercedes was the condition of the body. I did not see any rust on the body of this Mercedes which is, in my opinion, the most important factor to consider when looking at one of these...especially a diesel where the drive train will typically out last the body. Please take the time to review each of the photos closely as you consider this classic Mercedes-Benz. I would also rate the interior of this Mercedes-Benz to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you swing open the heavy door and sit in the drivers seat, you'll notice that the interior of this vehicle is a credit to the attention to quality Mercedes used when designing these vehicles. The door panels show well and are tight. The carpets are still thick and show well. The seats are in great condition, comfortable and presentable. The headliner is also in good condition. The dash is clean and free of cracks and fading. The wood isn't perfect but has held up well over the years. The power windows all work. The power seats work. The sunroof does not open. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. The trunk is spacious and houses a CD changer. Mechanically, this Mercedes 300SDL appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 3.0L turbo diesel inline six starts easily and runs smoothly. Other than the typical start up smoke from excess fuel, the engine does not smoke noticably. There appears to be a small oil leak when the car is running. I left the car idle for about an hour while I did these photos and it left a puddle about the size of a half dollar...nothing bad. The engine idles smoothly. I recently had the alternator rebuilt. The only thing I know of that this vehilce will need are glow plugs. I have a Mercedes specialist who works on all of my Mercedes Benz vehicles. He is the best I've ever come across, period. I literally drive past two other Mercedes garages to make the 30 mile trip to his garage. There are also two Mercedes dealers that are closer but I make the trip to him for his extensive knowledge of these vehicles. Anyone who has owned a Mercedes will tell you the value of a truly talented Mercedes technician. Anyway, he told me that at least two of the glow plugs are bad. I also know that two are good. However, he recommended replacing all six as they are supposed to match. Normally, I would have just had them replaced but I decided not to. If you live in the south where the climate is warm, this may not be an issue to you. If you want, I can have all new glow plugs put in for $400. I can discuss that with the winning bidder once the auction is over. He also told me that he thinks the injectors and pump have recently been replaced. This vehicle is the third I purchased in a set of three that were owned and traded in on a brand new vehicle by the same owner. Out on the road, she drives nice and strait. The suspension feels good. The steering feels good. The brakes stop this vehicle well. The engine keeps a nice cool temperature and good oil pressure at all times. There is an intermittant ABS light. The transmission engages and shifs normally. This Mercedes will fly down the highway at 80 mph with no problem. It seems to run well. My experience with diesel Mercedes' is limited to the three I purchased at once but it doesn't seem to do anything stupid and drives well compared to the other two. If anyone has any questions, I'll do my best. Please be specific as I don't have a complete working knowledge of Mercedes diesels. When I acquired this vehicle, the odometer was stopped at 240k so it must be sold as NOT ACTUAL MILES. I've ran about $50 worth of diesel through this one which equates to about 400 trouble free miles. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. I sell fresh trades from larger dealers "as-traded" directly to the public. I personally road test each unit before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how the vehicle runs and drives. Please keep in mind, as you read this description, that I am neither a mechanic nor do I operate a full service automotive facility. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description, read our terms & conditions and review each of the photos closely BEFORE asking questions and BEFORE placing a bid. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is one of the most indesctrucible vehicles ever made. Anyone who knows me can tell you that I'd personally rather drive a Mercedes-Benz over just about anything on the road. I've owned at least one of just about every Mercedes made from the 70's on. For your consideration today is a 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300SDL finished in tan over tan and brown. The W126 is, in my opinion, the pinnacle of Mercedes-Benz. This car represents the beginning of the end of an era where a Mercedes-Benz was built to a standard, not built around a target price...and this shows throughout these vehicles. All you have to do is sit in the drivers seat and close the door to see this. These vehicles were built to last. With proper care, these automobiles will literally last a lifetime.
I would rate the exterior of this 300SDL to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mieage of this vehicle. The tan exterior shows well but you will find some flaws up close. As usual, there is some clear coat flaking on the roof and trunk lid. Additionally, there is a small dent at the corner of the right fender above the parking light. Otherwise, she still looks pretty good. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. The alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in deep rubber all around. What attracted me most to this Mercedes was the condition of the body. I did not see any rust on the body of this Mercedes which is, in my opinion, the most important factor to consider when looking at one of these...especially a diesel where the drive train will typically out last the body. Please take the time to review each of the photos closely as you consider this classic Mercedes-Benz.
I would also rate the interior of this Mercedes-Benz to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you swing open the heavy door and sit in the drivers seat, you'll notice that the interior of this vehicle is a credit to the attention to quality Mercedes used when designing these vehicles. The door panels show well and are tight. The carpets are still thick and show well. The seats are in great condition, comfortable and presentable. The headliner is also in good condition. The dash is clean and free of cracks and fading. The wood isn't perfect but has held up well over the years. The power windows all work. The power seats work. The sunroof does not open. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. The trunk is spacious and houses a CD changer.
Mechanically, this Mercedes 300SDL appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 3.0L turbo diesel inline six starts easily and runs smoothly. Other than the typical start up smoke from excess fuel, the engine does not smoke noticably. There appears to be a small oil leak when the car is running. I left the car idle for about an hour while I did these photos and it left a puddle about the size of a half dollar...nothing bad. The engine idles smoothly. I recently had the alternator rebuilt. The only thing I know of that this vehilce will need are glow plugs. I have a Mercedes specialist who works on all of my Mercedes Benz vehicles. He is the best I've ever come across, period. I literally drive past two other Mercedes garages to make the 30 mile trip to his garage. There are also two Mercedes dealers that are closer but I make the trip to him for his extensive knowledge of these vehicles. Anyone who has owned a Mercedes will tell you the value of a truly talented Mercedes technician. Anyway, he told me that at least two of the glow plugs are bad. I also know that two are good. However, he recommended replacing all six as they are supposed to match. Normally, I would have just had them replaced but I decided not to. If you live in the south where the climate is warm, this may not be an issue to you. If you want, I can have all new glow plugs put in for $400. I can discuss that with the winning bidder once the auction is over. He also told me that he thinks the injectors and pump have recently been replaced. This vehicle is the third I purchased in a set of three that were owned and traded in on a brand new vehicle by the same owner. Out on the road, she drives nice and strait. The suspension feels good. The steering feels good. The brakes stop this vehicle well. The engine keeps a nice cool temperature and good oil pressure at all times. There is an intermittant ABS light. The transmission engages and shifs normally. This Mercedes will fly down the highway at 80 mph with no problem. It seems to run well. My experience with diesel Mercedes' is limited to the three I purchased at once but it doesn't seem to do anything stupid and drives well compared to the other two. If anyone has any questions, I'll do my best. Please be specific as I don't have a complete working knowledge of Mercedes diesels. When I acquired this vehicle, the odometer was stopped at 240k so it must be sold as NOT ACTUAL MILES. I've ran about $50 worth of diesel through this one which equates to about 400 trouble free miles. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

Winning bidders:
Winning bidders are required to contact us within 48 hours of auction close and make arrangements for payment and vehicle pick-up. If contact has not been established and arrangments are not made within 4 days of auction close, we reserve the right to open an unpaid item case with eBay and sell the vehicle to someone else.
Vehicle Pick-up:
Arrangements must be made in advance to pick up a vehicle. We do not have regular hours, we operate by-appointment. We are very flexible and accomodating with days and times to pick-up, but must have advance notice or there is a very real possibility you or your shipper may arrive and nobody will be at our facility.
Accepted Payment Methods:
Vehicle will be immediately available for pick up if paid by cash in person. Payments made by wire transfer, check (cashiers or personal), or money order will be subject to verification of funds by my bank. The vehicle and title will be held until all funds have been cleared by my bank and made available for withdraw.
Paypal is not accepted for payment. This includes Bill Me Later.
All vehicles shall be removed within 14 days of auction's end. Any vehicle left longer than 14 days without arrangements being made prior to the end of the auction will be subject to a storage fee of $10/day.
Bid Retractions/Changes:
We take selling vehicles on eBay very seriously. In the event of any bid retraction or bid change, it shall be the right of the seller to honor or not honor the outcome of the auction. This descision will be made at the sole discretion of the seller and can be made at any time while the auction is live or after the auction closes regardless of any circumstance. Additionally, any member who changes or withdraws a bid may be permanently barred from bidding on future auctions.
The seller may, at its sole discretion and for any reason deemed appropriate, cancel any bid or restrict any member from bidding on current and future auctions.
