WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER REGARDLESS OF PRICE! A PORTION OF THIS SALE WILL BE DONATED TO CHILDREN WITH CANCER UK, A CHARITY PRINCESS DIANA INAUGURATED IN 1988. This Rolls Royce is the most significant car in Princess Diana’s United States history. Bought new by the Embassy of the United Kingdome in 1979, it was not put into use until 1981. The reason for this is because the first 2 years were spent armoring the car against bullets, grenades and small bombs. The bullet proof glass is also sealed shut to protect against gas attack. The car was in the VIP fleet of the British Embassy Washington DC until it was retired in 1988. During these eight years the car was reserved for use only by VIP’s, including many uses by Prince Charles. However the most historic and important use of this car was during the highly publicized, first ever visit by Princess Diana to the US. It was this very car that carried the Royal couple during their 3 day visit. During their visit, they were greeted by President and First Lady Regan’s at the front of the White House, video footage of this is included with the purchase of the car as well as additional footage from the same visit. After the car was retired it was purchased by Farley Berman, founder of the Berman History Museum and owner of the world’s most extensive collection of historic weaponry. Farley considered this car the most valuable piece in his collection valuing it at $2 million dollars. The car has never been on public display. With low miles, the car is in excellent condition and all original with exception of a recent $11k paint job. This car is extensively documented. It has all the history since it was ordered new to the current ownership of the Volo Auto Museum. Cancelled title showing Embassy Ownership, Letters between Berman and the Embassy, the original Rolls Royce Build Sheets and order forms and the Diplomatic log book documenting its Royal use. This is a one of a kind historic automobile. Princess Diana History with real documentation to back it up! *CHILDREN with CANCER UK funds life-saving research into the causes, prevention and treatment of childhood cancer and works to protect young lives through essential welfare and campaigning programs.
