2003 Volkswagen Beetle ConvertibleWe bought this car a little over 3 years ago and have enjoyed having it in the family, but it is time to move on and let someone else enjoy the experience.This car has been well maintained in the time we have had it. (you can see service info that we have done below) The bug has been garaged as long as we have had it as well and very seldom saw rain or even winter weather. The ’03-early ’05 convertibles were notorious for transmission valve bodies going bad in the 6sp. Triptronic transmission. Unfortunately this one did at about 80,000. The transmission was replaced with a rebuilt one with 35,000 miles on the transmission. It shifts smoothly and drives great. Service info:73,000 miles water pump, timing belt, both cv shafts78,000 miles full tune up (plugs, wires, filters, & etc…)79,000 miles new alternator80,000 miles new transmissionJune 2012 4 new tires There are a couple of items that need to be addressed. · As you can see in the pictures the headliner is coming loose around rear window.This is a common problem for the convertibles.· Also the rear window had begun to come loose from the top and has been glued intoplace. This has held for over a year and does not leak!· Air Bag light is on, I have been told by my mechanic that it is either a sensor orwire issue in the module in the steering wheel. · There is a small rip/tear in the driver’s side seat· AC does have a leak somewhere. It is charged and cools well but I have had to charge it once this summer. Overall this car is a great driver and we enjoy taking it out. However, it is time to move on to something else. Vehicle is being sold as is. Deposit of $500.00 is due through paypal within 48 hours after auction ends and pick up within 7 days from auction end. Does have a loan against so we will need to obtain title from bank.
