Vehicle Detail
Good day, You are bidding on a 1984 Jaguar Xj6. This model run is reputed as the most sophisticated and most refined of the initial Xj6's. The series 3 single handedly regained the prestige and reputation that Sir Lyons (Founder/owner and CEO of Jaguar) had strived for during Jaguars early years. This car drives exceptionally and is whisper quiet with substantial power on tap for whenever it is needed. This particular example has been in San Diego for quite a few years and has had the benefit of only being serviced through select Jag / Rover shops. It silently fires up on command and swiftly pulls away with no fuss. The interior on this Xj has been refurbished and shows few if any signs of age. The seats are without tears or scratches and they are very comfortable. The headliner is impeccable exempt one small knick. The carpets are in good condition with the plush factory floor mats still standing guard. All the guages work perfectly including the dual tank guage and switch. The door cards are perfect and the armrest only needs a cleaning. The windows are all in perfect working order and the sunroof is in perfect working order. The sunvisors may as well be brand new, Windows are all clear and without chips or scratches. Wipers work perfectly (New blades), Blaupunkt radio works great (including factory power antenna), Glove box vanity still has the mirror with no cracks. To drive the car is an absolute pleasure. The steering is smooth and tight with 0 play in the rack. It goes from lock to lock silently with the feel of a brand new car. While the Jag is silent it certainly is no barge as the suspension is in excellent condition with no squeeks or rattles. It will get around a turn fast and flat with no lean and little effort. It is very willing in the turns and exceptionally well footed. The braking system in this car was rebuilt from the master cylinder to the four discs and pads. It just came back from a rigorous servicing at a top shelf San Diego Jaguar specialist and he replaced all things needed to stop tops. The motor is sweet and silent with good compression across the board. The exhaust is tight as a drum from front to stainless tips. Cooling system never lets the car get above 88 Celsius. It has no leaks of any kind and just had its valve cover gaskets replaced (beware of other jags that are leaking here! Not good to have oil dripping onto your hot exhaust manifold). The 4.3 liter 6 cylinder burble is put to the wheels through a COMPLETELY REBUILT TRANSMISSION. The automatic trans was not replaced with a used unit but removed and rebuilt from every nut and gasket. The transmission in this car is essentially 2 months old and has less than 60 miles on it. It is in essence newer than most in a brand new car lot. It shifts smooth and makes no noise. The car will come with a service history. In the last 3 months it has received $4800 worth of repairs including but not limited to accelerator linkage, full brake system, Full trans rebuild, gaskets, belts, plugs and other items. WHAT THIS MEANS TO YOU IS THAT YOU NEED NOT WORRY ABOUT HAVING TO PAY FOR THESE REPAIRS!!! Be sure to ask for service history for any Jag as not doing so may cost you. With this example, all things are taken care of. Just get in and drive. Now for the things that need attention. The paint needs some fixing. There is a bit of rust around the winsheild with a small hole half the size of a dime. Another small hole on the side is the size of a grasshopper. The paint is presentable as the pictures suggest but it is fading in areas and would need paint to return it to showroom. Also the trunk carpet needs cleaning (as the pics show) and the courtesy bulb in the map light (console) needs replacing. . . Overall this is a great opportunity for one to acquire a great car for little coin. I have invested much in this car but my family has no need for it right now as we will be moving soon. Its a pleasure to look at, sit in or drive. Happy bidding! Shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer. I will deliver the car to a shipping depot or airport if needed but it will be up to the buyer to arrange and finance shipping. Car does not have current reg and will cost 50 dollars. The car comes with all needed paperwork and history needed for another 28 years. Cheers.
