Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE You are bidding on a 1955 Packard Patrician Touring Sedan - Body # 5582; Chassis # 5580 This Packard is largely in original condition AND in good shape overall. It starts easily and is quite drivable - particularly around town. With air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power antenna, power seat, and torsion bar auto-level suspension, it is indeed one very desirable classic car. Interior colors are Jade and Tourmaline. VIN is 5582-9010. Odometer reads 77,580 miles, but recently quit working. (Less than 1,000 miles have been put on the car since it quit.) Specifications: SERIES: 55th YEAR: 1955 WB: 127 MODEL/CHASSIS: 5580 CARBURETOR: Rochester 4GC 7007230 ENGINE: 352 CYLINDERS: 8 HP: 260 WEIGHT: 4,275 MSRP: $4,040 TOTAL PRODUCTION: 9,127 PASSENGERS: 6 GND VOLTAGE: +12 TIRE SIZE: 8.00x15 CAR HISTORY The car was purchased in the San Diego, CA area from a private owner in October 1992, who had used it as a daily driver. Garaged since 1992, it has a bumper sticker dated 1969 from Marine Corps Air Station at Miramar, so has been in the San Diego area for at least 43 years, where it still resides. Because of its longevity in Southern California, the car shows very little signs of rust and needs no repairs to correct any rust-related problems. The 1992 bill-of-sale will be included with the vehicle. Also included are all repair records since 1996. Only two mechanics and the owner have maintained it since 1996. Repair records are available from 1996 to present. It's been garaged and driven locally by one driver since 1992. The mechanic starts it monthly, maintains fluid levels, and drives it occasionally. ABOUT THIS LISTING I am listing this Packard for a friend whose husband recently died. Both had become very active with this car and he was making steady progress on fixing the list of problems and annoyances that exist in any unrestored classic. They had the car judged at a Packards International Grand Salon in 2010 and the judging sheet is included as a photograph with this listing. Please direct all of your questions and inquiries via email to msgs967@live.com. As the car is garaged at the owner's residence, she can get quick answers to your questions or requests for more information. Any inquiries to me through eBay will be forwarded to her for answer. Arrangements can be made through this email address to view the car before the auction closes. The car has clear California title and current 2012 registration. It is also insured. We are being very honest about all problems and defects the car has. About half of the accompanying photos focus on some negative aspect of the car. It is our intention to err on the side of being too detailed and open about problems, so as to be certain to avoid any possible misrepresentation of the vehicle.
