My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind, as you read this description, that I am neither a mechanic nor do I operate a full service automotive facility. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description, read my terms & conditions and review each of the photos carefully BEFORE asking questions and BEFORE placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a Mercedes Benz 300SD. This Mercedes comes from a time when Mercedes made the best car they could make...and then figured out how much to sell it for. Unlike now, when Mercedes checks the competition and then decides how many corners they need to cut to keep their cars competitive. The difference is immediately clear as soon as you do something as mindless as close the door...you can tell that these were made to last. There aren't many "million mile" cars on the road anymore. Even at 25 years old with who knows how many miles, I would jump in this car and go anywhere without a second thought. How many other 25 year old cars are still road worthy? I would rate the exterior of this Mercedes Benz to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for an original car of this age and over 200k miles. If you're looking for a Mercedes to augment your ego, this is probably not the one for you. The tan-ish silver finish is presentable but far from perfect. Specifically, there is a noticable section of the roof where the clear coat is peeling off. The paint on the trunk lid has some visible blemishes as well. Please expect scratches, scuffs and other signs of wear associated with an older vehicle. There is a bubble of rust on the sunroof, some bubbles around the passengers side rear fender and some rust on the rocker panels (see photos). Like I said, far from perfect and not likely to win any car shows...but that's not the reason most folks buy a diesel Mercedes. The alloys show well and are wrapped in average rubber all around. The headlights appear to have been upgraded with the one piece euro lights which put off great light at night. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. There is some discoloration of the rear glass on the drivers edge that I cannot explain but doesn't seem to have any affect of anything. I would rate the interior of this 300SD to also be in AVERAGE CONDITION for a vehicle of this age and mileage. As you can see, she has held together pretty well over the years. The door panels are all clean and intact. The carpets show well, too. The leather seats also show considerably well for their age. The only visible wear is at the top of the rear seat where the seams are coming apart from normal shrinkage. The headliner is clean. Both power front seats work properly. The passengers side front window does not work...the other three do. The passengers rear door does not open. The lock post is missing, and I presume it is stuck in the "lock" position. I don't have time to screw with it. The wood trim shows its age as most do. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. I have no idea if the air conditioner works or not so assume that it does not. The sunroof opens and closes properly. Again, not too bad considering the age of this unit. Mechanically, this Mercedes 300SD appears to be in good running and driving condition. I will preface this by telling you that, although I do have a fairly thorough knowledge of Mercedes-Benz, I do not have much experience with thier diesels. In a stroke of brilliance, I bought three diesel Mercedes' at once...so here we go. At least I have the other two to compare this one to. The 3.0L turbo diesel engine starts easily and idles smoothly. It won't say it doesn't smoke at all...but it's very minimal, in my opinion. For example, I cold started this car and immediately pulled it into the center of the shop for the photos below and let it run the whole time. Less than 5 minutes elapsed between starting the car and beginning the photos...and there is no smoke visible. It cold starts with no complaints and smooths out quickly. It looks like either #3 or #4 injector has a very small leak...there are no leaks under the vehicle as it runs. The suspension feels nice and tight. The steering is neutral and responsive. The brakes stop this full sized sedan with no issues. As with any old diesel, you're not likely to win any drag races...but it will cruise down the highway with no complaints. The engine keeps a steady temperature and good oil pressure. The tachometer does not work...I'm told it's a sensor that is common to fail. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts normally for an older Mercedes. The odometer has stopped working right at the 200k mark and was like that when I acquired this vehicle. For that reason, it must be sold as "not actual mileage" on the title. The title I have shows actual mileage of 198,XXX in July so the miles can't be that far off, in my opinion. However, I still have to sell it as "not actual mileage" regardless... I am happy to answer any mechanical questions but please be specific so I can get you the best answer possible. We do not have regular hours, we operate by-appointment. We are very flexible and accomodating with days and times to pick-up, but must have advance notice or there is a very real possibility you or your shipper may arrive and nobody will be at our facility. Accepted Payment Methods: Vehicle will be immediately available for pick up if paid by cash in person. Payments made by wire transfer, check (cashiers or personal), or money order will be subject to verification of funds by my bank. The vehicle and title will be held until all funds have been cleared by my bank and made available for withdraw. Paypal is accepted for the initial deposit only...not the balance. This includes Bill Me Later. All vehicles shall be removed within 14 days of auction's end. Any vehicle left longer than 14 days without arrangements being made prior to the end of the auction will be subject to a storage fee of $5/day. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind, as you read this description, that I am neither a mechanic nor do I operate a full service automotive facility. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description, read my terms & conditions and review each of the photos carefully BEFORE asking questions and BEFORE placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.
Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a Mercedes Benz 300SD. This Mercedes comes from a time when Mercedes made the best car they could make...and then figured out how much to sell it for. Unlike now, when Mercedes checks the competition and then decides how many corners they need to cut to keep their cars competitive. The difference is immediately clear as soon as you do something as mindless as close the door...you can tell that these were made to last. There aren't many "million mile" cars on the road anymore. Even at 25 years old with who knows how many miles, I would jump in this car and go anywhere without a second thought. How many other 25 year old cars are still road worthy?
I would rate the exterior of this Mercedes Benz to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for an original car of this age and over 200k miles. If you're looking for a Mercedes to augment your ego, this is probably not the one for you. The tan-ish silver finish is presentable but far from perfect. Specifically, there is a noticable section of the roof where the clear coat is peeling off. The paint on the trunk lid has some visible blemishes as well. Please expect scratches, scuffs and other signs of wear associated with an older vehicle. There is a bubble of rust on the sunroof, some bubbles around the passengers side rear fender and some rust on the rocker panels (see photos). Like I said, far from perfect and not likely to win any car shows...but that's not the reason most folks buy a diesel Mercedes. The alloys show well and are wrapped in average rubber all around. The headlights appear to have been upgraded with the one piece euro lights which put off great light at night. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. There is some discoloration of the rear glass on the drivers edge that I cannot explain but doesn't seem to have any affect of anything.
I would rate the interior of this 300SD to also be in AVERAGE CONDITION for a vehicle of this age and mileage. As you can see, she has held together pretty well over the years. The door panels are all clean and intact. The carpets show well, too. The leather seats also show considerably well for their age. The only visible wear is at the top of the rear seat where the seams are coming apart from normal shrinkage. The headliner is clean. Both power front seats work properly. The passengers side front window does not work...the other three do. The passengers rear door does not open. The lock post is missing, and I presume it is stuck in the "lock" position. I don't have time to screw with it. The wood trim shows its age as most do. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. I have no idea if the air conditioner works or not so assume that it does not. The sunroof opens and closes properly. Again, not too bad considering the age of this unit.
Mechanically, this Mercedes 300SD appears to be in good running and driving condition. I will preface this by telling you that, although I do have a fairly thorough knowledge of Mercedes-Benz, I do not have much experience with thier diesels. In a stroke of brilliance, I bought three diesel Mercedes' at once...so here we go. At least I have the other two to compare this one to. The 3.0L turbo diesel engine starts easily and idles smoothly. It won't say it doesn't smoke at all...but it's very minimal, in my opinion. For example, I cold started this car and immediately pulled it into the center of the shop for the photos below and let it run the whole time. Less than 5 minutes elapsed between starting the car and beginning the photos...and there is no smoke visible. It cold starts with no complaints and smooths out quickly. It looks like either #3 or #4 injector has a very small leak...there are no leaks under the vehicle as it runs. The suspension feels nice and tight. The steering is neutral and responsive. The brakes stop this full sized sedan with no issues. As with any old diesel, you're not likely to win any drag races...but it will cruise down the highway with no complaints. The engine keeps a steady temperature and good oil pressure. The tachometer does not work...I'm told it's a sensor that is common to fail. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts normally for an older Mercedes. The odometer has stopped working right at the 200k mark and was like that when I acquired this vehicle. For that reason, it must be sold as "not actual mileage" on the title. These are literally million mile cars. Unless you have a perfect, low mile diesel...I don't think anyone really keeps score on these. I am happy to answer any mechanical questions but please be specific so I can get you the best answer possible. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

Vehicle Pick-up:
Arrangements must be made in advance to pick up a vehicle. We do not have regular hours, we operate by-appointment. We are very flexible and accomodating with days and times to pick-up, but must have advance notice or there is a very real possibility you or your shipper may arrive and nobody will be at our facility.
Accepted Payment Methods:
Vehicle will be immediately available for pick up if paid by cash in person. Payments made by wire transfer, check (cashiers or personal), or money order will be subject to verification of funds by my bank. The vehicle and title will be held until all funds have been cleared by my bank and made available for withdraw.
Paypal is accepted for the initial deposit only...not the balance. This includes Bill Me Later.
All vehicles shall be removed within 14 days of auction's end. Any vehicle left longer than 14 days without arrangements being made prior to the end of the auction will be subject to a storage fee of $5/day.
Bid Retractions/Changes:
We take selling vehicles on eBay very seriously. In the event of any bid retraction or bid change, it shall be the right of the seller to honor or not honor the outcome of the auction. This descision will be made at the sole discretion of the seller and can be made at any time while the auction is live or after the auction closes regardless of any circumstance. Additionally, any member who changes or withdraws a bid may be permanently barred from bidding on future auctions.
The seller may, at its sole discretion and for any reason deemed appropriate, cancel any bid or restrict any member from bidding on current and future auctions.
