I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind as you read this description that I am neither a mechanic nor do I operate a full service dealership. Most of the questions we get are already answered within the following description. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. It is my pleasure to present this 1997 Lexus SC400 for a NO RESERVE auction. The later production SC's are, in my opinion, one of the best looking coupes on the road. Their styling is timeless, elegant and understated. I would rate the exterior of this SC400 to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this is a great looking car. The black on black color scheme is very desirable. As with any older vehicle, please expect a reasonable amount of wear associated with use. On this specific unit, the only other thing I should point out is a dent behind the left fender. You may not be able to see it in the photo as it isn't a very sharp dent...but it is there. The black finish has a mile deep shine. Anyone should be proud to own and drive this Lexus coupe. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. The alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in good rubber all around. Please review each of the photos carefully. I would rate the interior of this Lexus SC 400 to also be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and mileage of this vehicle. Again, please expect to see signs of normal wear associated with age. The door panels are clean and tight throughout. The carpets show well. The seats show well. The power windows, locks, seats, mirrors and sunroof all work properly. Both front seats are heated, too. The SC is a very comfortable car to drive long distances in. That is probably why it is so hard to find one with low miles like this. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be functioning properly. The air conditioner blows ice cold air. The stereo powers up but the sound is distorted. The most likely cause is a malfunctioning amplifier. The trunk is clean and includes the original full sized spare. Mechanically, this SC 400 appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.0L 32V DOHC V8 engine starts easily and purrs like a kitten. The Lexus 4.0L engine has quite an interesting history and quite an impressive racing pedigree. It was originally developted by Toyota Racing Development (TRD) at a cost well into the hundreds of millions of dollars. It's original purpose was to be the platform for a CART/Indy racing engine. The engine was never used for its intended purpose but fortunately did end up in the high end Lexus vehicles in a slightly de-tuned version. This engine was specifically designed to deliver loads of smooth power again and again. The suspension on this car feels great and is nice and tight over all road conditions. The steering is neutral and responsive as it should be. The brakes stop this luxury coupe with absolutely no issues. Out on the highway, this SC 400 really shines. Thanks to the powerhouse V8 engine, accelleration is effortless and smooth. She will cruise at triple digit speeds with one hand on the wheel and absolutely no complaints. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. The engine keeps a steady temperature at all times. This Lexus has a current PA annual safety and emmissions inspection good through the end of January 2013. This vehicle came to us as a NEW TOYOTA TRADE from a large multi-franchise dealership. The written description we provide is based soley on our observations of the vehicle during our road test and should not be taken as any kind of official mechanical inspection done by a certified inspection mechanic. We offer a unique way of purchasing a car but it does carry additional risk to the buyer when compared to buying a vehicle from a retail dealership that has been inspected and may carry a warranty. We try to eliminate as much risk as possible for our buyers but cannot offer reconditioned, inspected vehicles for sale with NO RESERVE PRICE. Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 administrative fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, ect., and is not applied to any transfer costs incurred by the purchaser. The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
