My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I sell fresh trades from larger dealerships directly to the public "as-traded". I personally road test each unit before it is offered for sale so I can give my first hand opinion of how each one runs and drives. Please keep in mind as you read this description that I am neither a mechanic nor do I operate a full service automotive facility. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description, read my terms & conditions and review each of the photos closely BEFORE asking questions and BEFORE placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. It is my pleasure to present this 1991 Mercedes-Benz 560SEL for your consideration. Anyone who knows me will tell you that Mercedes-Benz is my personal vehicle of choice. I've owned at least one of nearly every Mercedes made in the last 40 years...my favorites being from the final years of Mercedes-Benz...before they were Diamler Benz. If you've driven newer and older vehicles, the difference is immediately obvious in quality of craftmanship. All you need to do is close the door to feel the difference. This vehicle represents the beginning of the end of Mercedes as it was...when a Mercedes-Benz was built to a standard and priced accordingly, not priced to compete and then built around that price. The 560SEL represented the flagship of the Mercedes-Benz family. It is the long wheel base version of their largest sedan and was equipped with the 5.6L V8 engine producing an impressive 272hp. The 126 chassis was the longest running version the the S Class ever and introduced many safety and technological advances that carried forward for decades. The 1991 model year saw the most available features as it was the last year that this body was made. These advances included dual air bags and integrated crash crumble zones. ASR was introduced to control wheel slip in this powerful sedan. Addittionally, the transmission is equipped with a topographical sensor which, in conjunction with throttle position sensors, could hold back the transmission while on a down grade to keep the vehicle from gaining speed and causing excessive braking. Cruise control also benefitted from this feature. I would rate the exterior condition of this 560SEL to be ABOVE AVERAGE for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this is a great looking car and is a great example of Mercedes-Benz quality. Please keep in mind that this is an older car and will not be perfect. Prospective buyer should consider this and expect to find some signs of wear from typical use of a vehicle of this age. Please review each of the photos closely. The finish on this vehicle shines very well and shows no noteworthy damage. The most significant thing to point out on this vehicle is the lack of rust on the body. I did not see any rust on the fenders, under the doors...anywhere. The body cladding is intact and also shows well. The chome also shows very well. All of the glass appears to be original and intact. The alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in good rubber. This is the absolute nicest W126 I've ever been able to get my hands on in this business. I would rate the interior of this 560SEL to also be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION. This vehicle is a perfect example of what happens when a well made vehicle is used with care. The door cards are clean and tight throughout the cabin. The carpets show well throughout as well. The leather seats show minimal wear and are comfortable. The headliner is clean and tight. The dash and rear deck also show well. The interior chrome trim is in good condition. The wood veneers also show well for the age of this car. There are two things I've found that don't work as they should. One is the rear window, right side. The regulator needs rebuilt. The other is the original Becker radio. It doesn't seem to do anything. Otherwise, the electronics are in amazing condition. The seats, windows (3) and sunroof all work. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. It is not the best time of year to test but I think the air conditioner will need charged or serviced for next season. As I mentioned, this is a very well optioned vehicle. All four seats are heated. This 560SEL has the optional power reclining rear seat as well as the ORIGINAL FOOT RESTS! The trunk is spacious, clean and includes a multi disc CD changer. Mechanically, this Mercedes-Benz appears to be in good running and driving condition. The big 5.6L V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. Other than some typical oil seepage at the valve cover, I did not see any leaks. She makes great power and is a pleasure to drive. The engine keeps perfect oil pressure and keeps a steady85 degree temperature. There have been no warning lights on. I can feel a slight bit of play in the front end which means that the bushings are getting thin which is common and not an expensive service. The steering is neutral and responsive. The brakes bring this big sedan to a stop with no complaints. The transmission works properly with no complaints. She drives nice and strait. I just completed a $600 service on this vehicle (basic thorough service/tune up). I am very picky when it comes to Mercedes'. Trust me, there is no such thing as a perfect Mercedes. They are a car that must be owned long term, serviced properly and regularly by qualified technicians with specific experience with this vehicle. In the event of a local buyer, I will happily forward the information for the person who services every Mercedes I have ever owned. I drive past two other Mercedes garages to have him service mine. His experience, honesty and understanding of owning a Mercedes are well worth the drive. If you own a Mercedes, you probably appreciate having a qualified technician who understands your car and doesn't try to stick you with a four figure bill every time you pick your car up. I am happy to forward his information to any local Mercedes owners...just ask. These vehicles are built to a standard that few are...or ever were. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I sell fresh trades from larger dealerships directly to the public "as-traded". I personally road test each unit before it is offered for sale so I can give my first hand opinion of how each one runs and drives. Please keep in mind as you read this description that I am neither a mechanic nor do I operate a full service automotive facility. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description, read my terms & conditions and review each of the photos closely BEFORE asking questions and BEFORE placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.
It is my pleasure to present this 1991 Mercedes-Benz 560SEL for your consideration. Anyone who knows me will tell you that Mercedes-Benz is my personal vehicle of choice. I've owned at least one of nearly every Mercedes made in the last 40 years...my favorites being from the final years of Mercedes-Benz...before they were Diamler Benz. If you've driven newer and older vehicles, the difference is immediately obvious in quality of craftmanship. All you need to do is close the door to feel the difference. This vehicle represents the beginning of the end of Mercedes as it was...when a Mercedes-Benz was built to a standard and priced accordingly, not priced to compete and then built around that price. The 560SEL represented the flagship of the Mercedes-Benz family. It is the long wheel base version of their largest sedan and was equipped with the 5.6L V8 engine producing an impressive 272hp. The 126 chassis was the longest running version the the S Class ever and introduced many safety and technological advances that carried forward for decades. The 1991 model year saw the most available features as it was the last year that this body was made. These advances included dual air bags and integrated crash crumble zones. ASR was introduced to control wheel slip in this powerful sedan. Addittionally, the transmission is equipped with a topographical sensor which, in conjunction with throttle position sensors, could hold back the transmission while on a down grade to keep the vehicle from gaining speed and causing excessive braking. Cruise control also benefitted from this feature.
I would rate the exterior condition of this 560SEL to be ABOVE AVERAGE for the age and mileage of this vehicle. As you can see, this is a great looking car and is a great example of Mercedes-Benz quality. Please keep in mind that this is an older car and will not be perfect. Prospective buyer should consider this and expect to find some signs of wear from typical use of a vehicle of this age. Please review each of the photos closely. The finish on this vehicle shines very well and shows no noteworthy damage. The most significant thing to point out on this vehicle is the lack of rust on the body. I did not see any rust on the fenders, under the doors...anywhere. The body cladding is intact and also shows well. The chome also shows very well. All of the glass appears to be original and intact. The alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in good rubber. This is the absolute nicest W126 I've ever been able to get my hands on in this business.
I would rate the interior of this 560SEL to also be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION. This vehicle is a perfect example of what happens when a well made vehicle is used with care. The door cards are clean and tight throughout the cabin. The carpets show well throughout as well. The leather seats show minimal wear and are comfortable. The headliner is clean and tight. The dash and rear deck also show well. The interior chrome trim is in good condition. The wood veneers also show well for the age of this car. There are two things I've found that don't work as they should. One is the rear window, right side. The regulator needs rebuilt. The other is the original Becker radio. It doesn't seem to do anything. Otherwise, the electronics are in amazing condition. The seats, windows (3) and sunroof all work. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. It is not the best time of year to test but I think the air conditioner will need charged or serviced for next season. As I mentioned, this is a very well optioned vehicle. All four seats are heated. This 560SEL has the optional power reclining rear seat as well as the ORIGINAL FOOT RESTS! The trunk is spacious, clean and includes a multi disc CD changer.
Mechanically, this Mercedes-Benz appears to be in good running and driving condition. The big 5.6L V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. Other than some typical oil seepage at the valve cover, I did not see any leaks. She makes great power and is a pleasure to drive. The engine keeps perfect oil pressure and keeps a steady85 degree temperature. There have been no warning lights on. I can feel a slight bit of play in the front end which means that the bushings are getting thin which is common and not an expensive service. The steering is neutral and responsive. The brakes bring this big sedan to a stop with no complaints. The transmission works properly with no complaints. She drives nice and strait. I just completed a $600 service on this vehicle (basic thorough service/tune up). I am very picky when it comes to Mercedes'. Trust me, there is no such thing as a perfect Mercedes. They are a car that must be owned long term, serviced properly and regularly by qualified technicians with specific experience with this vehicle. In the event of a local buyer, I will happily forward the information for the person who services every Mercedes I have ever owned. I drive past two other Mercedes garages to have him service mine. His experience, honesty and understanding of owning a Mercedes are well worth the drive. If you own a Mercedes, you probably appreciate having a qualified technician who understands your car and doesn't try to stick you with a four figure bill every time you pick your car up. I am happy to forward his information to any local Mercedes owners...just ask. These vehicles are built to a standard that few are...or ever were. Vehicle Pick-up:
Arrangements must be made in advance to pick up a vehicle. We do not have regular hours, we operate by-appointment. We are very flexible and accomodating with days and times to pick-up, but must have advance notice or there is a very real possibility you or your shipper may arrive and nobody will be at our facility.
Accepted Payment Methods:
Vehicle will be immediately available for pick up if paid by cash in person. Payments made by wire transfer, check (cashiers or personal), or money order will be subject to verification of funds by my bank. The vehicle and title will be held until all funds have been cleared by my bank and made available for withdraw.
Paypal is accepted for the initial deposit only...not the balance. This includes Bill Me Later.
All vehicles shall be removed within 14 days of auction's end. Any vehicle left longer than 14 days without arrangements being made prior to the end of the auction will be subject to a storage fee of $5/day.
Bid Retractions/Changes:
We take selling vehicles on eBay very seriously. In the event of any bid retraction or bid change, it shall be the right of the seller to honor or not honor the outcome of the auction. This descision will be made at the sole discretion of the seller and can be made at any time while the auction is live or after the auction closes regardless of any circumstance. Additionally, any member who changes or withdraws a bid may be permanently barred from bidding on future auctions.
